Hello, I am back in the market for the right C6 or C7. I have been away from this site and the overall community for 11 years.....
My question is though, I am seeing C7 Stingray's priced at 40k or much less! The prices make it almost more desirable than a 2010 C6 or any C6.
Please help me underatand why this is? LOL
Thanks for helping on my journey into another Vette! LOL
Well, there are C7's that are getting to 10 years of age now and presumably have some mileage on them. Getting one under 40k shouldn't be that difficult at all. It's just the natural depreciation of a mass produced car in a market that is sort of normalizing after the Covid flurry.
It is a good time to buy since they are now affordable for more buyers. I never thought I would be in one, but they finally dropped into my price range late last year. Mine is no garage queen with 37k on it, but it was sub $40k and the right car for me. It wasn't that I couldn't afford it; I just didn't want to spend that much on a pleasure car at the time.
Tough choice. I think owning any nice Corvette will put a smile on one’s face. Depends on what kind of styling you prefer and what you want out of the vehicle. What kind of performance and what sort of safety or creature comforts, etc. My suggestion is drive them both and decide from there. It’s a good time to buy with a lot of bargains to be had. Personally, for me the perfect Vette would have the C5’s styling, the C6’s engine/transmission, and the C7’s interior and safety/creature comforts.
Are you comparing apples to apples? Sub $40k C7s seem to be 1LT non-Z51 base corvettes. Are you looking at the same C6 or are you looking at 2lt/3lt/Z06/GS? I'm noticing a lot of the listings for low priced C7's don't clearly indicate that they are the bare bones model. You have to dig into them a little to find out whether they're a 1LT or not.
Yes the prices are all over the place but again you must take into consideration the options, color , miles and how many
owners and is it accident free.
By the way do check out Carmax if you don’t like it within a short time with less then 1400 miles you can return i5. Also
you get l believe 3/4 months bumper to bumper warranty.
plus you can take it to your own mechanic to check it out.

Prices are dropping for C7s, but I would not characterize them as dropping significantly. Well maintained, low mileage cars with popular colors/options are still commanding a good price.
$40K C7's? prices falling off a cliff? WTF do you guys live? Not anything like that in FL.
Or WA……..I have been looking locally (east side of state) and Carvana, CarMax, and when I hesitate for a day or so they sell.
None that aren’t a base, no option less than 40k miles are selling for $40k…..
The base cars will have a lower selling point obviously, a C6/C7 Grand Sport/Z06 widebody will be above the 40k price that you mention, you need to decide what body style do you prefer?
My base 2017 with a few factory options, wheels, Z51 appearance items, <6000 miles, perfect condition was quoted from Carmax yesterday at $42,400 and you know they will sell it for more.
Later C7s' are still $55k and up for 2LT Z51 or GS in good condition and low/reasonable miles. For what its worth, you can buy a 2022, or some 2023 C8s', cheaper than a 2018 or 2019 Z06 2LT C7 with reasonable miles . If you are talking early C7 base models 1LT, and a bunch of miles, then $40k might be close. My 2016 3LT Z51 with 14k miles sold for $56k this past March with "off season middle of winter pricing" to the first person who looked at it.
