Default My perspective

I would replace the battery...I think you're looking for peace of mind. Your battery is probably fine, but as Dirty Harry would ask "Do you feel lucky?"
I bought a 2019 GS last November and decided to replace the OEM battery for peace of mind. Was not having any problems but didn't want any either.

INSTALLATION
I chose to have a dealership's Corvette technician do it. I searched about 4 dealerships and found one that would install my new customer-supplied battery for $80.
There are plenty of horror stories from DIY-ers about the infamous black wire or what a hassle it is with battery weight, difficulty to install, carpet, etc. I chose to let someone who has done this numerous times be the guy to change my battery, rather than trial-and-error by me.
BRAND
I extensively searched the Corvette Forum postings about C7 owners and their batteries (OEM, AGM, various brands, DIY, etc) and decided to buy from NAPA: a AAA 36-month free replacement with 730 CCA. Price was $210 before core refund. It works great. I use a GM battery tender when not driving. No problems whatsoever.
I considered comparable Die Hard, but price was $280. I considered OEM AC Delco, but at the time their Cold Cranking Amps was lower than I wanted.
As one CF poster wrote:
"OEM battery is woefully undersized for all the electrics that are in our cars... 50% of the electrical gremlins can be traced back to a low voltage condition. After struggling with the OEM battery and always worrying about if it would start after sitting for a few weeks I finally replaced it with this battery and I have never looked back." That's one guys opinion, but I have read many of his comments on C7 matters and considered him authoritative. Many have replaced their originals with another AC Delco and been happy with that. I think AC Delco's CCA has been increased.

Enjoy your C7. Getting stranded or needing a flatbed tow truck ain't worth gambling over squeezing a few months of battery life. If you have concerns about battery life, be proactive.
Just like you probably carry a spare FOB battery in your glovebox, just in case. Just my perspective.

Most of you thought like me, 5 year 6 month battery why take the chance. So today when I had her serviced I had the dealership install a new battery. Now my display is stuck on Sport mode, the abbreviations at the bottom (W-E-T-S-T) are changing when I try my magnetic ride control. It moves thru all 5 settings but the big display does not. Has anyone else experienced this. I called the dealership and they told be to bring it in Monday.

Your display mode reset to SPORT. If you want it to change with DRIVE MODE from the rotary dial, use the buttons on the steering wheel under your Right thumb to:

- scroll left to the left side menu
- scroll down to the last choice SETTINGS
- press OK
- you should now be in the CENTER of the display
- scroll down to DISPLAY
- scroll right
- scroll to the display you want - Tour, Sport, Track, or LINK TO DRIVE MODE
- press OK
- scroll back to the Left side menu
- scroll to Info, Perf, Nav, ... as desired
- press OK
- you should be in the center of the display
- scroll up / down to your desired display

Easy, yes?

You should also have to index your windows. Other settings like seat memory MAY need reset too.

Can I just take my C7 to AutoZone and have them replace the battery?

Bad idea?

I wouldnt. A lot of quirks changing the battery. Not ripping the carpet. Seating the cables properly and not destroying the little black wire.

I doubt the auto parts stores will touch a Corvette. Their "free battery replacement" description has a lot of disclaimers and exclusions. If you are set on that path call them first.

I replaced the battery in my 2019 GS this past Winter. My Corvette was built in September of 2018 this past Winter. I was not going to wait until the battery died which is common with the newer batteries. I did it myself and did not have any problems except for my fat hands getting the old battery out. I bought a Die Hard from Advance Auto after watching a couple of YouTube videos. From start to finish, it took me about 45 minutes to an hour.

Thanks in advance for any input.
My baby was also built in March 2019, just changed the battery proactively last month as after five years you are in the danger zone.

Also remembering to re-connect the vent elbow and put that little plug into the hole on the negative side of the battery

I replace the batteries in all my vehicles every 5-6 years to prevent headaches. I just changed the one in the C7 and had the dealer do it. The 42-month Delco Gold and labor was under $200.00, and I don't have to worry about DIY issues I've read about here on the forum. Have a great trip!
