A cargo net. There's two connections on both sides of the rear panel that it attaches to.

Cargo net won't work well if the item is large or top heavy. I've used my cargo net to hold groceries and it didn't hold things in that well. I imagine if the item is smaller and fits inside the net then it'd work. Anything sticking out the top has the potential to tip over/not stay put. It's definitely one option though.

I love this cargo organizer I purchased off Amazon. It has a velcro bottom that holds tight to whatever I put in it. (I put a watermelon in it yesterday, lol) It has adjustable velcro partitions to fit whatever you throw in it.

The Coupe trunk floor also has two D-rings in the floor near the front, they are for the front cargo shade but can be used to tie down other objects.

The cargo net works fine, but you can also tie things down. Plus, the black foamy stuff (name escapes me at the moment) sold to quiet the inside; it doesn't do that for diddly, but it really lessens stuff sliding about.

I use one of these. It has a weighted bottom.

I have a Roadster and those things are too large for the trunk. I git a cardboard box, that is the right size for me. I put Velcro on the bottom of the box and on the carpet. It does not take up much room, stays put, and is easy to remove. It is also cheap to toss if I suddenly need the room while I am out and about.

I have two cargo nets. One, is the 3 section one about a foot wide. The other one is very narrow and hooks to the rear of the compartment with two loops. My beer glass doesn't roll around anymore.

Lots of good options mentioned to secure items in the back.

I use this drawer liner
Con-Tact Brand Grip Premium Shelf Liner Thick and Non-Adhesive Drawer Liner Multi-Purpose and Easy to Use 12 x 4' Black Pack of 6 in the Shelf Liners department at Lowes.com
It keeps things from sliding very well. Obviously it doesn't do anything to keep things from rolling or tipping.

So a lot of guys are doing some "spirited driving" to Costco I see! lol When I go, I just load the back up and it's fine. But all these options look nice.

If the cargo net is too flimsy, I'd use milk crates. Sturdy. Should not tip over.
Come in several colors. Just Google it. The half milk crate is from milkcratesdirect.com.
Full size crate = $12 at Home Depot or $18 at Container Store.
Half size = $15
