Default Blind Spot Solution?

OK, we all know that driving a C7 creates some blind spot challenges. There's excellent advice on proper mirror adjustment to mitigate the risk.
However, even with that adjustment, I still check-double check-triple check before making a lane change.
Possible alternative...
Recently, when I drove an Audi A6, I discovered the driver side mirror was "aspherical" which expanded the field of view for the outer 1/4 - 1/3 portion.
The main portion of the mirror, closest to door, is normal view.
These mirrors are common for some European cars.
I guess you lose the anti-fog capability, but that's probably not an issue for most of us that are "fair weather" drivers.
It's just the mirror glass portion that can be changed.

So... Has anyone replaced their driver side mirror with an aspherical mirror? Results?

One of the forum vendors offers an expanded view mirror - do a search and you should find some posts with info.

I replaced mine and it definitely helps with the blind spot and spirited driving, makes reversing harder though if you use those mirrors for parking.

Installed this on my C6 4 years ago and truly love it, I have no blind spots great for backing into spot on my C6, they make them for different models.

You see the road, even when police come out of no were hiding I just recently found out, to bad it was to late.

Here's what I did.
Added a rear view "mirror" camera and monitor to my 2014 C7.
Had added a front parking camera years ago, but wanted an always on
rear camera to help view semi-blind spots for passing vehicles.

This is what I purchased and switched to, took 5 minutes and this gave the wide angle view listed above. Can't recommend them enough.

The paragon mirror is a little more expensive than the Sandyeggo Designs version but the Paragon isn't a stick on, instead it replaces the factor glass. I would not want to have to remove the stick on version. There are also 2 Paragon options. I created a thread about this several months ago. You should be able to find it with the search tool.

I went with the Chrome ones. Not sure if I would like the blue ones, so stuck with the OEM color.

I have adjusted the side mirrors so that when the car leaves the rear view mirror it appears in the side mirrors

you should not be able to see your car when adjusted properly. I started doing this years ago and can’t drive with them adjusted the old way….

I've used the proper technique for decades and it works great, except for the C7. Especially if you have one of the bigger spoilers.
The problem is that out in the real world, we have to deal with motorcycles, tiny cars, lane weavers, and people who cross 3 lanes at once.
I bought the Sandyeggo mirrors when they first came out, I dislike the "objects are much closer than they appear" issue, but to me the much wider field of view is worth it.

I do the same. But w/ the sandyeggo add-ons you get a wider view overall. It makes me a LOT more comfortable on an on-ramp.

The problem, IMO, is that you can use proper technique for decades and it works. You can also make a mistake. This can happen when you are not used to the car if you don't drive it every day. I wish they had something to give blind spot warning like my other vehicles. It won't help if you don't look in the mirror for the yellow light but it makes it harder to miss. If it can reduce my odds of a mistake, I'm all for it. I'm not so manly that I think I can't make a mistake today because I haven't yet.

Why not? Current still will pass through the filament. Whether it heats up the mirror to do anything is another story since you have to heat the OEM mirror and pass it through to the stick on mirror. I would assume that it makes the heater worthless.
