After some frustration with my local dealer, I finally got them to acknowledge that some of our cars may have some difficult shifting. In my case, it was not so smooth getting into 2nd gear and an occasional "pop out of gear" thing...so embarrassing at a traffic light. Its been discussed here before with various suggestions and even some voodoo incantations.
I am posting the actual GM Service Bulletin to adjust the shifter linkage. It is 19-NA-073 and addresses all 2014-2019 manual trans shifters.
Symptoms:
Difficult to shift into gear
Grinds when shifting
Possible gear clash
Intermittent gear pop out
Mushy shifts

I had this issue until I realized it was user error. I also got the mgw shifter which is a blessing. GL
The issue is due to two different possibilities, both are typical not common. If your having trouble getting into first or reverse the first thing to do is the bolt on the linkage, it needs to go back together clean with RED Loctite on the threads. This bolt comes loose over time with heat cycles and it allows the shaft from the box to slip that collar. It's hard to see if your not paying attention; the shaft, right at the end of it's travel, will slip inside the collar.
The other issue is wear; primarily in the box. As your box wears the internals of the box that secure the shaft and the torque tube bushings (non-Z boxes) that mount the box to the tube develop slop. Slop increases with age and mileage and you eventually develop issues getting into and out of gears. You can play with the alignment of the box / shifter and get it to work better for a while but as the box wears more you'll be pulling your console out to readjust.
Upgrading the box eliminates slop / rattle and makes any shifter your running smoother and more precise. If your running a shifter that uses the factory bottom pivot bushing, which also includes most of the aftermarket shifters, I have a better bushing that makes a significant difference a well. Upgrading the box / shifter bushing makes any shifter feel considerably better than it did when the car was brand new and it will last the life of the car, guaranteed.

I have your billet box and pivot bushing. After using every possible setup and shifter combination I can safely say this is the best possible setup. ZERO slop, perfect alignment, easy shifting. I will always run this. NICE WORK!
The only pop outs I ever had were when the transmission was cold. Same with the TR6060 in the Camaro. It seems like a common issue on tremec transmissions.
Never had issues in the summer but fall or spring I got used to shifting into 1st, back neutral and back into first when pulling out of the driveway to ensure the gear lever wouldn't pop out (I could feel the slop in the lever).
When it warmed up a bit, I never felt the slop again.
