AUXITO 194 LED Bulbs for License Plate Light 168 175 2825 W5W T10 24-SMD 3014 Chipsets 6000K White for Car Dome Door Map Dash Courtesy Cargo License Plate Lights, Pack of 2
I installed LEDs as you did (sans the side marker lights) and it resulted in 3 trouble codes for me - they were not displayed on the dash as MILs and I would not have known about them without running my diagnostic scanner. LEDs have different operational parameters than incandescent and it causes a fault with the expectations programmed in the BCM. I know many people run LEDs such as this without issue and I don't want to get flamed by those that do - your car, your choice. Not sure why GM felt it necessary to keep incandescent bulbs in those locations but the BCM is calibrated for them. However, after seeing the BCM faults on my car I removed the LEDs and went back to the original incandescents which resulted in the faults going away. Like most of you I've read about so many electrical gremlins in these cars, I chose not to introduce any unnecessary challenges to the BCM.
Here's a thread about codes likely caused by the installation of LEDs but I didn't have my Corvette and wasn't on the forum then: Strange DTC's
For the record, I liked the LEDs when I had them installed especially in the cargo area. I didn't love how bright it made my license plate at night (I felt it drew more attention than I wanted)
