I’m showing a B256A unfortunately the shop manual shows nothing (does not exist) I found a Cadillac reference which says the cargo (hatch lights) are shorted to ground. Both are working just fine. Any ideas?
Comes back after a few min. Of driving, I’m going to check with a different scanner and also see what the HP tuner says about the settings for the code
Other than the fault you are seeing are you experiencing any issues? I ask because you may be chasing a "ghost fault."
well the latest is from another scanner which says open circuit to cargo lamps. I did put in LED lights a few weeks ago they worked fine till yesterday so that may or may not be the problem. I did find one web site that said that this was not covered in the Chevy FSM nasty to leave things out!
Latest update. It was a new tune file that did it so yes it is a Ghost code.
now if my tuner can figure out why & fix it all will be well
Wow , that's just crazy that an ECM tune would pop a BCM , or we think it's a BCM code , I will be interested in his findings and thanks for the update
I've seen lots of weird stuff come from the BCM when the proper process isn't followed when flashing a tune.
That being said, I searched the service manual for b256a and it doesn't even seem to be a valid code for a corvette (I searched for a 2016). What year is your car? I think it's safe to say it's a lighting code, but as to what caused it it could very well be those LEDs. There's no way this is throwing a CEL however.

Yep, my tuner can’’t figure it out either. I’m going to log again with a new set up he sen and hope that works.
When I go back to th tune before this one everything works fine so maybe it dropped a bit to two in the process
