Unless I never paid close attention until recently, my '19 never gets up to normal 170-190F temps like my '08 (A6 trans) does.
I took a 3 week 6600 mile (18 state) road trip last month and the fully warmed up trans temps ranged from the low 80's (with outside temps in the 50's) to the 140's (when outside temps were in the 80's).
The A6 cooler is in the radiator to maintain a relatively stable temperature close to the Ideal 180.
I wonder if the A8 over-cooling is normal or if there is a problem, such as the sensor or ?

Mine will only go over that on the track, there it will get to 230 or so, on the street maybe 140 tops
Same here HOXXOH
Wait till you pop the dreaded TCM CEL "Temp Out of Range " if it gets cold out , mine barely makes 120 ....
They say it's because it needs a new internal harness and sensor
I have been clearing the code rather than spend 700 bucks since it only happens in Febuary down here in the south

Mine has never gone over 190 with Circle D 4000 stall. My trans did go a bit over 200 four years ago when I was racing a C6Z ... 8 back to back pulls
That is good to know 123 ... I am thinking about adding a stall but was worried about additional cooling . How are the street manners with that converter?
I was told you don't even know its there until you stomp down hard on it , it's just the 4,000 is such a jump over the 2800 and 3200 i am use to

Haha it’s true you barely know it’s there until 30% + throttle and even after that until you give it full throttle most people wouldn’t even know. I don’t know the exact term for it but I’ll use “slip”. There isn’t a lot of slip under normal driving at all. I don’t know about other brands but this Circle D is the best I’ve ever had

I agree on the Circle D converter love my 3200 stall. Plus I did a z06 trans cooler next to my Z51 set up also so mine has never gotten over 190. Now that I have the zr1 Noise on the car I may put a cooler on each side for the blower set up someway. I need to see if I can in a few months over the winter & get the piping worked out on it. EDIT: when it went over 200 the car had stock converter
What year is yours and what cooler config? My '15 with a smaller converter will get to 200 easy if I'm beating on the car. Do you have the aux cooler up front?

Mine is a base 2015 non Z51 with stock trans and stock cooler. What stall do you have and you have a Circle D ?
Not sure if Howard @ Redline did any tune magic or anything on mine.

Mine usually stays pretty cool but if I'm hot lapping it she gets toasty. Just curious to see if anyone has done anything.

Honestly, I was always thinking about trans temps for a couple years before the converter as I knew at some point in the future I was getting one. Having high stall converters before, trans temps had been problematic.
Extremely surprised this go around with zero issues. And yes ... I’m not babying my car at all ever. Track and street
