Live in central Indiana and my truck sits outside now and I wouldn't have bought my recent 2017 if I didn't have garage space. No need to get any hail damage or flying debris damage during bad storms.
My advice is to keep full coverage on it all day long. Sure, if you are storing it, change it to storage. Why waste money on coverage when it isn't necessary. IIRC, there was a guy here who dropped his insurance and a couple weeks later, total loss. I got no issue with leaving it outside. My truck sits outside every day seeing as how the cap I put on won't fit into the garage. If my other vehicles that are of equal or greater value can be sidewalk or driveway parked year round, I don't have to make it that complicated and build another garage (if possible) or not buy it if I want it.
Why does it seem like there are people that will park their other cars, even if they are more expensive, outside of the garage but when it is a Corvette, the Instant Karen comes out?
It's a car. Will you enjoy driving it? Just drive it. Keep it washed, waxed, a good ceramic coating & don't worry about it.

we agree on this one. Nothing really that special about a used 2017 Corvette.
You can buy a breathable car cover for it. Get one that is made for a C7 from one of the Corvette parts and supplies stores online. I paid around $200 each for several. Better ones are more. One will last 2-3 years if on the car year round. But always wash the car before you put the cover on it so that there is no grit under the cover to scratch the paint.

Friend of f mine would tell you BTDT. He washes and waxes his truck. One day he found scratches from the cover flapping around.
Been down this road before. My C3 and C4 both spent many years in the weather and I must say, this is not really good for them. And of course, they become a large target for theft. If a C7 is left outside, the potential for it to be stolen is greatly increased.
Time to clean out the garage. If you're like many of my neighbors you store all your junk in it and your driveway, and street are full of cars. Not me.

Can't always have every car in the garage. As to being a theft target, it is not on the top of the list for theft and any car you put outside will be subject to the the in increased risk so....

I have neighbors like that too. Some with three car garages and all their cars are parked outside.
Nothing special about a 2017 Corvette,,,buy a quality outdoor cover & stay up on the washing/waxing
Bums me out on this forum to see people post stuff like this. The VAST majority of the world's population can barely find enough to eat, much less afford a Corvette...
The only special Corvette I have ever known to exist is the one I own. I don't care about your 1 of 1 because it's not mine.

Well, he's right that there isn't anything special. It's just one of many mass production cars. I'm skeptical about the cover myself.
For my SxS, I have a factory cover on it which is relatively expensive and trailer able. It gets beat up by the elements so I put a cheap one on. When it's broken, I replace it thus protecting the more expensive cover. I'm not worried about scratching on the SxS but on the car, some have reported scuffing even with expensive covers. I've personally seen it.
Not sure about any of my cars being special. They've all replaceable consumables. They'll get old and replaced with a superior model.
Think about getting a Stingray which will take-up less room in the garage. Then, go into the garage and get rid of anything you have not used or touched in five or 10 years. I have a lot of hobbies and that is what I did.
There was no way I was going to leave my Roadster out in the weather. jmho
