Can anyone help me with needed info, my 2019 corvette stingray is in the dealer, thry say the AC Compressor is shot. What will this cost parts and labor using an O.E.M. GM Compressor from a GM dealer. Thanks,
Below is cost info from Alldata…now WHY is the compressor being replaced ??…if it failed internally you need to replace more than just the compressor…watch the video….if failure is internal and you just change the compressor it will most likely fail again and probably won’t be covered under a warranty !!…I hope the dealership guessed right…cheaper to take the car to C&S Corvettes in Sarasota…with 5 hours of labor plus the evac and fill you are looking at maybe $1500-2000…don’t let them BS you on the “book time”…4.9 hours plus another 1-3 hours for the evac and charge !!

If the compressor craps in the line, does that include flushing it? On the C4, I had a kit bought since they said there is no warranty on the compressor if you don't replace the receiver dryer.

Why not ask your dealer to give you a written quote on what they will charge for the work that is needed? I have obtained a quote from my local dealer on work I wanted done and they have kept to that quote when things were completed.
They told me it's the internal clutches, failed and that they don't rebuild them just replace the compressor, is that all it needs do you think, also I did purchase from gm an extended warranty for 5 years 50k. Zero deductable, wasn't cheap 2800.00 and have been told the entire job is covered, so I figure I'll only be about 800 upside down if nothing else happened in the next 4 - 1/2 years, sure glad I purchased that

Did they replace the dryer and receiver at the same time, my GM garage says they don't need to because they make sure system is clean before installing compressor, my work is under warrenty so I guess it will still be under warrenty

Based on what documentation? Considering that some AC compressors insist on the receiver dryer change or the compressor warranty is void and that is what my instructor drummed into is during shop class, I'm not sure it is wise.
Besides, if it is an extended warranty, there is a deductible and inconvenience I pay for so, I'd be very skeptical.
