I'm sorry if this has been asked. I purchased my dream C7 ZO6 for my wife and I. The car grabs and pulls at
any inperfection in the road. Is this common for this car? If so, any suggestions on how to eliminate this? Thank you in advance.

The 285s upfront will grab and pull if you’re not used to this type of a car. However, it is worth getting the alignment checked as a precaution on a used car.

Wide tires to get grabbed by rutted roads. The phenomenon is called tramlining.

Note that C7 has both caster and camber adjustments on the rear. Not all alignment shops have the gauges to set the rear. Many Chevy dealers bought the C7 tool kit. Ask before you schedule alignment.

Also - tire pressures should be 30 psi cold.

Try different steering effort settings: Tour has the most power assist, then Sport, and Track has the least power assist. I find the car too squirrely for my taste in Tour or Sport. I drive with steering always in Track. Find a setting to your liking.

Welcome.

Ron

Thank you for the advice. I will look for a shop that has the capabilities of doing a complete alignment with caster and camber adjustments.

Thanks for the advice Rick. I will look for a shop with the C7 tool kit and try out the different modes. I did set the tires to 30lbs cold.

If you are unable to identify the reason for grabbing and pulling, it is best to take your Corvette to a Chevrolet dealership for a diagnosis. As they are the experts with all GM vehicles, they will be the best source for assistance. Should you need help connecting with one in your area, feel free to email us at socialmedia@gm.com with your Username and Forum title in the subject line.

Man, that’s a beautiful Z06 you’ve got there. Congratulations! I remember a C5 and a more recent Mustang GT that I had had the problem you described. Was rather startling to say the least! In my case, it turned out to be some older tires. A new set of all season tires and an alignment solved the problem on both cars.

The first thing I would check is the date code on the tires. They could be the originals. If so a new set will make a big improvement.

RonC7, Are you saying you can set just the steering to track mode and leave everything else in another mode? If so, how can I do that?

When I purchased my 2014 it had the same problem, especially on the highway. It wasn't the tires, it was the alignment. The alignment was too aggressive. After a neutral alignment the problem disappeared.

Go into the SETTINGS menu on the infotainment system. Go to DRIVING MODE and look at the choices.

See the Owner's manual under Vehicle Personalization:

RonC7, Thanks for your very informative reply. It was a piece of info I didn't know, and I didn't even know I wanted to know until I read the thread. However, if we eliminate all the questions that can be self-answered by reading the F**King manual (RTFM), we can cut the traffic on this site dramatically. If such questions bother you, just don't reply.
