This is the style I got. I have three different brands and they all look identical to this. They're pretty much just the same Chinese factory making them. This one has 51,000 reviews and a 4.5 star rating.
I have these pouches. I had them for around a year they work good with blocking frequency with my 17 GS and our 24 Sierra and my wife’s Acadia. If I stand next to vehicle (either vehicle ) with fob in pouch the doors will not open and if I sit in either vehicle with fob in pouch vehicle will not start. So these work great for me ! There are different size pouches so measure fob so you purchase the correct pouch size for your vehicles fob. Some times it’s inconvenient opening pouch every time so car picks up fob but that little minor hassle to me and is worth the deterrent of possible theft.

Those are essentially the same as I bought from Amazon and yes they work, even with the flap open they work, one thing to remember is do not put the fob in the pouch and leave them in the car, because the car will not know the fob is there and the doors will lock with the key fob inside.

The point of the pouch is to keep thieves from electronically reading the signal from the fob as it is searching for the car and copying the code so they can go find the car and steal it. The one issue is that you are still vulnerable to thieves copying your code every time to use the fob to lock or unlock the car. There have been reports of bad guys trolling through places like casinos scanning for fob signals, then going to the parking lot and using their equipment to beep the horn or flash the lights to locate vehicles that they can open and start with the stolen codes.
It is a bit of a hassle dealing with the fob in the pouch, but if it helps to keep my car safe from bad guys, I am all for it.
I hang my key fob 6 feet from my car on a hook. The car doesn't recognize the fob even that close.
You're missing the point of a faraday pouch. Your key fob may not be recognized 6' from the car, but the high power antennas that thieves are using to capture and broadcast that signal will. The pouch is used to block all incoming request and outgoing delivery of the frequency that emits access.
My faraday pouches work well and I keep both C7 key fobs safely tucked away in them at all times.
I can lay the faraday pouch with key inserted anywhere on the C7 car body and the security system will not see it.
This is not to say the faraday pouches provide 100% protection. Perhaps very sensitive electronic receivers can capture a weak signal leaking from the pouch that the C7 receiver cannot sense.
My protocol is to secure the key fob in the pouch when I shut the engine down. With the security system set to auto lock and upon exit, I simply listen for the door to lock to let me know the security system is set.
Knowing the auto lock system is an internal computer command and not transmitted over the air, I rarely use the fob to lock the system. This in turn reduces the number of transmitted signals from the fob for capture.
As said above, the pouches are not 100% protection. They are a simple deterrent. A thief determined to steal a C7 will grab the easiest one available.
