So I bought a 2018 Grand Sport last month with 22k miles on it. I changed all the fluids and everything was clean and looked good. I don't drive the car very often (I have only put about 150 miles on it since I bought it. This morning I took the car out and the turn signals had no chime and the seat belt chime seemed muffled. After driving it for about 30 minutes everything went back to normal. I am pretty sure the battery is the original. Do you guys think the battery may be going south?
Yes the battery is very likely at its end of life. Recommend replacement with AC Delco Gold AGM battery. Fits like original and is reasonable cost. You can buy on Amazon for about $175. Yes Amazon can ship AGM batteries since they will not leak if tipped over during shipping.
I replaced my 2018 battery a year ago. The new AGM battery has been working fine.
The electronics are very sensitive to battery voltage state. You will likely get electrical glitches not allowing the start sequence to be enabled well before there is a battery loss of ability to spin the engine for starting. Yes it is time if original factory battery.
Pick a nice cool morning to tackle the job, since original battery has no handle, it will make you sweat getting it out. A lot of posts giving you procedure on connections, take a look if unfamiliar with the C7 electrical, likely they will save you a lot of grief with the connections.
I have replaced two C7 batteries. Neither had a handle. I used a leather belt to hoist one out. Just slipped it under the bottom of the battery. I used a heavy duty bungee cord for the other one. I bought a NAPA brand replacement and it was guaranteed to fit but it was actually a half inch shorter than the OEM battery. So i had to add a block of wood under the retainer to hold it securely. The second replacement was a AAA and it has been fine. But I think the AC Delco from Amazon is the best deal.
ACDelco Gold 48AGM is the one I ordered from Amazon and it has handles and it was the exact same size as the OEM battery. Some people will say the car's charging system is not designed for AGM batteries. This may be true, but many folks including myself have seen no issues with using an AGM battery.

exactly what I have. Actually ordered it from Walmart because it was cheaper than Amazon and the shipping was a few days faster. And I never ever want a battery in this car that doesn't have handles. It was hell taking out the old one.
