You can take it to Advance Auto or other local parts store and they will give you $10 credit for it. So even better deal!

If you change it yourself get the Delco OEM. They now come with a handle. Disconnect the small plastic elbow going into the top side of the battery that is attached to the vent tube that routes battery gasses out of the battery storage well first. Also be mindful of the little black wire attached to the negative terminal. It’s fragile and can be easily broken or disconnected from its connector when changing out the battery. And equally as important make sure the fuse block w/positive terminal is properly seated and tightened snuggly. The same applies to the negative connector.

$10 store credit so be prepared to buy something there.

Not really. It's all figured in the purchase that you aren't sending a core back.

I don't think the guy who sold the battery has a financial stake in the sale any more than I do, as an onlooker. I really don't think the tester is rigged. I don't think that if I were a store employee, I care one way or the other since it isn't coming out of my pocket to replace it. However, it's pretty hot outside so if it were me, I'd have an incentive to pass it so I don't have to install it for you. I don't think they make anything extra for installation unless you tip them. Last time I checked, cash and carry is the same price.

Then again, people love conspiracy theories.

Do an "Advanced search" here for battery replacement. LOTS of info. The C7 has the stupidest, potentially problematic, post-attachment system imaginable! Look at all the issues noted in the Forum and possible solutions if doing it yourself. If so, do NOT disassemble the positive terminal "plate" assembly! It's not really necessary and one of the most common problem sources (along with the small wire attached to the negative cable). All the best!

I replaced the battery in my 2019 GS at the end of last year. I wasn't going to wait for a problem to arise. I watched quite a few videos and the hardest part of the replacement was getting the old one (original) out because I have fat fingers. I bought a Die Hard AGM Platinum battery with the 4 year free replacement from Advance Auto. It has handles and was easy to install. Total time from start to finish was 45 minutes. What ever you do, do not cheap out!
