I’m new to the corvette world just bought a 2019 stingray z51 with 64k miles almost 1 week ago, and as soon as I got home I notice a knocking sound only ever when I shut the engine off, any ideas?
no codes, only the o2 sensor that popped up yesterday
tried to upload video with sound, not sure if it worked, new to these forums

May be the torque tube? Check some videos on you tube for sound bites.
just watched a video with the same sound I get and comments said the same thing, I guess there’s really no telling when it could go out it’s my daily hopefully it’s under the warranty
Who are you? It helps us, to fill out your profile.
im sorry if this comes off wrong, but how does that help? Like I said I’m new to everything corvette and these forums. I want to learn all I can, does filling out profile just generally help others know what car I’m talking about?

You need to explain in more detail what you are hearing. Is the noise coming from the engine? Open the hood while the engine is running, do you hear it there? Does the noise seem to be coming from under the car? Can you hear the noise with the engine running & the trans is in gear or in park?

I believe it is the torque tube after finding similar noises on YouTube bites, but I did mention in the first post could only hear it when the motor shuts off, I found a few other videos with exact same sound and everyone says torque tube

It was a poorly worded post. Essentially he wants you to fill out your profile with all your car details. Year, Trim, Manual/Automatic, etc. It helps everyone who is trying to respond better answer the question because they don't have to ask you a bunch of questions just to be able to better answer your question. Like my question asking if you have an auto or manual. If your profile mentioned what you have I wouldn't have to ask that preceding question. If it were a manual I could have easily answered for you to try turning off the car with the clutch engaged and see if you get the same noise.

After you get it repaired, make sure your car never goes into V4 mode again. That's the #1 cause
How does someone do that without deleting it, that would risk the warranty right? After one week owning and I’m already dealing with this, wouldn’t want to be out more in the future by voiding the warranty

Very simple. Always drive with the transmission in the manual mode using the paddles, or purchase a Range Device and plug it into your OBD port. Then you can use the normal drive mode of the transmission. Leave it there and forget about it. If concerned about warranty issues, unplug it a few days before taking the car in for service. Problem solved.
The third option is to get someone to program the car's computer to never go into that mode. But I have no idea if that affects warranty. The first two are the cheapest and easiest. If you want to "set it and forget it", buy a Range Device or similar and leave it in the OBD like he said. That's the most important mod you can do

iv heard discussion about oem tubes vs solid mount, anyone have any tips about that, with just getting this car a week ago I’m very down about already it being in a shop. I know at this point everyone has this issue but I’d rather get more life out of a part then go through this every few years

That's probably why someone sold the car. Look at it this way, after getting it fixed you will never have to worry about it again probably. Unlike me who has to wonder if it will happen any day. Mine never goes in to V4, but you never know. And luckily, so many people on here were able to help you with the problem, instead of it being a mystery. Best to get this headache over early, if it's going to happen
Maybe I missed it, but do you have a shop in mind to fix it? Be very selective with your choice and make sure they are well versed in this repair as setting the proper thrust bearing clearance is absolutely critical to get right or it will take out your engine quickly after the repair. Not trying to scare you, just inform you beforehand. Plenty of posts regarding thrust bearing failures resulting from improperly installed torque tubes with automatic transmissions. Knowledge is power
