Default header review

so I know everyone loves the arh or kooks long tube headers. my issue is THE COST!! ad in you need product specific mid pipes and the cost is 2500$ or more for a set.
I found these online waited a few months to get them in and I have say they don't disappoint. most headers are either 1.75" or 2" these fall in just inbetween at 1.875". flanges are thick 12mm and the entire setup is 321 stainless steel.
the only downside I can find is they are a slip fit connection at the collector . I didn't like that so I mocked them up marked them and clamped them and had my welder cut out the slip fit out tack in some straight stainless tube and I took them home for a test fit . all looks good dropped them off and he welded them up to what you see now.
the nice thing about these headers are you can run a oem resonator mid pipe if you like or a catless mid pipe. I have both they both fit fine! AND I didnt have to run any o2 extensions either. my oem pre o2 sensors dropped right in. post o2 will also work but I don't run those. (tuned out for catless and no emissions in my state)
install took me about 45 minutes per side mid pipe connection was a exhaust doughnut like stock. (eventually ill v bands welded in for ease of install and fewer leaks). wrapped them in DEI titanium wrap and slid them in place. zero issues. space from the body nothing hits the frame honestly theres just room everywhere.

EOS long tube headers cost was 653$ shipped to my door. doubt you will ever find a cheaper option!! ad in the 200$ for my welder and im still under 1000$ cant wait to hear the sound hopefully car is back together ion a few weeks

ceramic coating is certainly an option. I chose not to spend 1300$ on a coating thats my choice. as for fitment one can easily use the slip fit and simply clamp them in place it works fine no different than the catback slip fit from the oem exhaust. I chose to clean it up since spending 200$ at my welders shop was approximately 1300 $ cheaper than buying the name brand headers. fitment in the car is as good as any setup on the market. arh 2" headers are a very tight fit so these at my hp goals of 800whp will do the job very nicely. if I was wanting 1000 hp or more than yes 2" would be the header to choose

I would have had the headers ceramic coated vs that wrap, Kooks & ARH cost more because they fit well right out of the box with no modifications or trips to the local welding shop

Any pictures of the collector inside? I'm doubting it has a merge spike but curious.

Awesome, thank you. With how well they look like they fit for you and the price, I'm surprised I don't see more reviews.

I really like these because I already have a AWE midpipe and these seem to be the only LT header that does NOT require a new matching midpipe.

flanges like oem setup so you can run oem catted or eos catless if you choose. I have both. I like being larger than 1.75” and smaller than 2”. Thick flanges and 321 stainless. At 600$ and free shipping it’s a winner in my book. And loud A/F!!

I'm WAY too interested in exhaust (already built a custom catback for my GS but redoing it). I also thought about trying new custom midpipe designs. So having a header that keeps the OEM midpipe flange/locations is really nice from a design standpoint in order to keep dimensions the same.

Since the these LT's get rid of primary cats (not a big deal with stock cam) but I plan to do a cam swap and at that point the fumes will be too much without cats. I MAY be able to squeeze some small spun cats in the AWE midpipe long term.

Definitely added these to the "buy list".

That is a great price. Are they equal length tubes and do you know the gauge thickness of the tubing?

oddly when I did the cam swap I went completely catless and there’s little to no smell. The only thing about the headers I didn’t like was the slip fit. I had a piece made cut off tge large piece and had a piece welded in. No leaks looks better . Lastly no o2 extensions needed fronts plug right in and since rears are turned off I used tge bungs for wideband install

Makes sense, good idea.

I had a C5Z with a BTR stage 2 cam and without cats it was terrible.I added some universal Flowmaster spun cats and helped A LOT. Maybe the C7 will be different

Would this actually be considered a long tube header? It looks very similar to ARH mids. The long tube collectors appear further down which is probably why they don’t work with OEM mid pipes. I’m not hating, just observing.

Something else interesting, the instruction manual posted on EOS has Corsa all over it.

I compared all the big names and they are shorter than Stainless Works, but similar to Kooks/ARH/LG

Billy Boat headers are made in USA and mount to the oem midpipe, just a head's up. 304 stainless too. EOS would be made in China.

LOL looking at them side by side, most likely what was used as a template to mimic.
