Because the process is the punishment. OP probably has better things to do with their time & possibly money than waste it defending free speech rights on something so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
I doubt whether a legit law firm would file a frivolous case like that. They make threats and people cave. That's why they do it. Sad. Don't defend your right to free speech and soon it is gone.
Before I ordered my (then) new 2017 Stingray, I considered three of the "forum dealers" - MacMulkin, Kerbeck (now Ciocca) and Criswell (Mike Furman). decided to order one..
I bought a 2017 Stingray in 2020 and it had 1,000 miles on it. It idled extremely rough but other than that, it was a good car. I kept it two years and sold it. Does your 2017 idle smooth?

It idled smoothly when I had it.
I owned it 5 1/2 years and then sold it before my wife and I moved overseas in the summer of 2022.
There was a thread recently started buy a guy who bought a new Corvette from Ciocca. They did a hack job on the ceramic coating he paid for and then charged him an extra thousand dollars on top of that. They were very unresponsive to him and several other forum members spoke up about similar experiences. One guy got very aggressive with him and said some demeaning things. The forum starter ended up receiving a cease and desist letter from Ciocca so he decided to take down his posts and the thread was shut down by the forum administrator. If you look at all the reviews on line you can see a pattern with this dealership. The cease and desist letter they sent our forum member is reprehensible. I think the thread starter realizes now never to but extras from a dealership but he didn’t deserve how he was treated.
I bought my 2017 Stingray new from Kerbeck in Sept. 2016 as I lived in South Jersey at the time. I had no issues with them at all. Best deal around on a Corvette. But I have heard that things have gone downhill a bit after Charlie sold the place...
Before I ordered my (then) new 2017 Stingray, I considered three of the "forum dealers" - MacMulkin, Kerbeck (now Ciocca) and Criswell (Mike Furman). Finding somebody to quote you a price is not all that difficult - although still much more difficult than it ought to be. But was it worth it to me to save $1,000 to buy a car in New Hampshire if it meant flying up there, getting an Uber to the dealership lot and then driving home in February snowfall back to Virginia? Was it worth it to save $500 by traveling all the way to New Jersey? Nope.
I ordered my Stingray with what I wanted on it - without anything I didn't. He kept in touch during the entire process and my car actually was ready a week before the date it was promised. I took an Uber there to the dealership right after I got off work, they let me pay by personal check (!) and I drove it home that night and put it in the garage of my townhouse. Lucky I did because it snowed the next day.
But everybody's situation is different. Doing business with Mike Furman was awesome! He reached out to me when I was just browsing the forum asking questions about Corvettes from current owners. He messaged me and I told him that I'd have to wait until I sold my house (it didn't have a garage AND I needed the money from the sale) before I could do anything. Once that went through, and I was able, I reached out to him. I drove up there (a bit more than two hours from where I lived), he met me in the showroom on his day off (!), showed me what he had on the lot, walked me through the catalog of options, etc. He didn't even ask me for a deposit, either. Told me to go home and think about it for a few days - then I could put a deposit on my debit card if I decided to order one.
As a first-time Corvette buyer, he made the process very easy and my girlfriend (now wife) ended up buying a new Corvette Stingray from him two years later. Sure, get a price from MacMulkin & Ciocca. But also give Mike Furman at Criswell the chance to earn your business. There is good reason that he's sold more than 6,000 Corvettes in his career in auto sales.
I highly agree buying from Mike Furman! I ordered my 2019 C7Z from him out of state and the transaction was flawless start to finish. His communication was off the charts and he always called me back immediately or a reasonable time frame to help me or answer any questions I had.I had a very comfortable pain free time dealing with Mike. He’s a stand up guy in every way and I highly recommend giving him a call if anyone is ever looking. He was very through and helped me go through every option and decision before placing my order for me.👍for Mike Furman!
