Distracted driver came through intersection and i nearly made it clear but clipped him. didn’t leak any fluid and air bags didn’t deploy. also crunk and drove like 20 feet after tow.
Wow sorry that happened to you. I’m glad you’re ok and nobody got hurt (I hope) I’m not sure, looks totaled to me unless nothing important isn’t bent and all goes back together smoothly.( I’d imagine very expensive on the border line of fixing)I personally wouldn’t want it back if it was me. I’m so OCD and to line and match everything perfectly like new would be very difficult for me to be happy and accept. Good luck and I hope they make it whole for you again
I'd be concerned with frame damage, but the first photo looks like the passenger front tire did not get pushed into the frame.
Sorry to learn about the damage of your car, but great to know no serious injuries occurred.
In parts cost? Absolutely not. If the body shop can’t get parts quickly, maybe.
Sure, the fender and hood exploded. Because they’re fiberglass. If this was a regular car the merely dented fender and hood would be getting replaced just the same.
I hope that all are ok(?). Just for perspective, my incident earlier this year when I rear ended someone. I was only doing 15-20 mph on impact. The contact area on my car, was just to left of the passenger side headlight (from the drivers seat).
The initial damaged area looked to be pretty small but, I did manage to hit the core support. This along with some front side frame damage, was the majority of it. It did take going through 4 shops to find someone who was certified for aluminum welding.
Not even the local Chevy dealership could do the work. There was still a lot of smaller work included too. It ended up coming to $22.5k in damages (2014 Stingray, about 43k miles at the time). I guess my point in this long tale is, based on what little damage
I thought that I had, versus what you show (picture shows the extent of the outer damage). I would expect it to be totaled. Good luck on how this transpires.
Agree with above, if the internals were mashed then the cost will be totaled. Even all those panels repainted will be expensive. Chances of it getting into the control arm, frame etc, are high.
the biggest issue is parts availability. the inner fender thats damaged is a part thats impossible to find. as for being totaled its far from it unless you dont want the car. if mine could be fixed to like new yours certainly can

Id be more concerned as to why the airbag didn't deploy...did you buy that car used? Unacceptable. That's a hard hit. Sorry it happened, and glad you're ok.
Sorry about your car. Glad you are not hurt.
As to your question, it is between your insurance adjuster and you as to whether cost of repairs is too much.
In August of 2023, I was stopped in traffic when a Prius didn't stop. Slammed into the back of me and pushed me into the car ahead. Unfortunately, I was driving my 17 Black Rose Grand Sport. I decided to go through my own insurance (and let them battle the other driver's). I had a discussion with my adjuster about totalling it out and I said I'd rather not. Of course at the time, we thought it was just body work. The first body shop found that the rear tub was cracked and wouldn't work on it. I took it to one of two GM authorized Corvette body shops in the state. They found not only was the tub cracked, but the front and rear frames were damaged. Fortunately on C7's, those are replaceable.
It ended up being $41,500 in damages and out for almost a year (this happened when GM went on strike). All done, the shop did an excellent job.
