Considering the 10 tax deduction on interest rate for new,American made cars for those making under 200 k trading my c7 z06 for a zo6 c8 from a cost basis is not a bad deal..talk among your selves..my 17 is black rose with 11k
I keep peeking in on the C8 forum and I personally just cannot see what people like about these. Maybe as a race car only? I obviously don't 'get it'. And it is not just because I can't afford one.

I was gifted an extreme experience 24 Z, 4 laps around the Charlotte roval. Its the only C8 that I've sat in. You don't get the opportunity to do anything but drive with a instructor beside you giving you hand signals and talking to via headset inside your helmet. It was an ok experience. The instructor was nice and I suppose necessary but it lessened the experience for me.
The car was fast, made my 17 SR feel like a pinto. Its loud and sounded great. I didn't push it super hard so can't say much as to the handling. While sitting still waiting to get on the track I wasn't allowed to fidgit with anything on the dash or wall.
I dont think you can compare these two generations as they completely different other than the badges.
If you find the C7 comfortable for you I would go with one, it’s a much nicer looking car overall. Hate me but the C8 just isn’t pleasant to look at or dr8ve for that matter.
In my experience, street performance on the C8 is very good as the increased traction allows it to launch much harder than a C7. I have a C7 coupe and it has a much more storage space than the C8. We travel quite a bit in ours so that makes a significant difference to us. As ours is a 16 the C8s naturally have more advanced electronics. My 5'2" wife also has a much easier time seeing the road when driving a C8. I like the looks of the C7 better. I guess I should have mentioned at least an inch more headroom in the C7. Competition seats.
I own a 2019 z06 M7. Two years ago the dealer where I service my car gave me a red C8 for half a day hoping for a trade. I think the C8 design is stellar, really love the look but the seats were not good for me and the interior is very tight. While handling is better then mine I still felt the fun factor in my Z06 was best.

For us, we pack light. I can take a 2 week overseas trip with a "carry on" bag and a CPAP machine. We traveled with someone and we were in the hotel lobby, all checked in and sipping on a cold drink while he was pulling up with his bags. If I was certain the rear engine concept would go on, I would have pulled the trigger on a C8 instead of a 16 C7

My '19 C7 Z06 Convert being the last of the front-mid engine Corvettes, definitely continues to be my personal preference. Nothing wrong with the C8 but it is tough to compare the two as they are both very different cars.
For me it is more than just performance as I do not track the car. My priorities are street drivability, highway cruising, comfort, functionality, maintenance, service and an occasional spirited drive.
At 6ft 4in and 220lbs, the interior of the C8 is very tight, almost cramped. There's enough room in my C7 Convert interior that I don't feel confined on extended drives. The C7 just fits me better. The C8 combined frunk/trunk 12.6 cu ft. of stowage space has 2.6 more cu ft on paper vs. the C7 Convert at 10.0 cu ft. However, I do like the single storage location of the C7. For those odd times when you need a bit more C7 storage space, there is approx. 3 cu ft of additional space behind the trunk's front divider panel that can be used when the panel is dropped to the trunk floor with the convertible top up. Results in approx. 13 sq ft of overall storage space in a single location. Plenty of storage for two on a long road trip. If you need additional storage, you're probably taking the wrong vehicle.
Unfortunately, we C7 owners have also experienced shortcomings from abandonment by GM with defective factory widebody soft and weak cast wheels, AFM/ A8 Shifting issues resulting in lurching/ surging, resolved with a triple flush with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, etc., etc. To our benefit the aftermarket stepped up and continues to provide improved cast and forged wheels, and many C7 vehicle performance enhancements and upgrades.
One of my closest lifetime friends worked his entire career in the design dome at GM Tech Center in Warren, MI modeling and designing C4, C5, C6, C7 and C8 vehicles. He has many interesting stories of the development of each Corvette generation. He just recently purchased a '19 C7 Z06 A8 Coupe. As actions usually speak louder than words, definitely says a lot.
I have a 2019 with manual tranny. A friend let me drive his C8. I like both as I never met a Corvette I didn't like. One thing a C8 can not give is the beautiful contour of fenders and hood that the C7 has when looking through the windshield.
I've never been in a C8. What were the biggest (negative) differences for you?
I really do not want to list the negatives I had when comparing the C8 to my C7Z. It just becomes a debate at that point. What you need to do is take a test ride in a C8. As I stated that is what I did and that convinced me to keep my C7.
You may decide otherwise after the test drive.
I rented a base C8 on Turo. Loved the handling and DCT. I have a 16 Z and often drive in the sticks where you need to pass slow vehicles and the base C8 is no match for my Z in that situation.
Keep in mind that the C8Z is an entirely different experience since you need to wind up that engine to feel the torque.
I hear that the eRay is similar in feel to the C7Z.
Next week we will be visiting a buddy who has a gorgeous 23 C8 and will no doubt be taking a ride, might even get to drive it. We will be cruising in my 17 C7 LT2 {bought it 5 months ago with just 10,150 miles on it}. Both are Arctic White, his with large black accent stripes, mine has a complete set of custom pinstripes that really make that Arctic White pop. I am sure the C8 will be amazing but I always had a thing for the C7's. We have been friends for 60 years and will be taking a couple of pics of us and our Vettes and will post upon my return. I had my beast professionally detailed a couple of months ago. This is what 3 coats of Adams Graphene Ceramic polish looks like. When it get dusty {I have logged 4,000 miles in the last 5 months} all I need to do is hose it off and remove the excess water with a Tee blade silicone squeege, 40V leaf blower {works great on the wheels} and a large fluffy micro fiber towel and it looks this good again in about 20 minutes.

You haven't seen real abandonment yet but it's coming. Going to your parts counter and having to hear "obsolete" or "NLA" is coming soon. Some OEM body parts are mentioned by others as not available anymore. Sure, your engine and transmission might be there for a while but your other electronics are going to be phased out.
I love everything about the C8. I have looked at them and I think they are amazing. My C7 coupe is my daily driver. And road trip car. We can take 2 large suitcases with provisions. Im retired and we do 2 road trips a month in the C7. The lack of luggage space is a concern to me on the C8. Plus Im totally content with my C7.
I want a Sports Car/ Muscle car not a EXOTIC LOOKING EUROPEAN SUPERCAR not a bad thing just not what the Corvette was and has now become. I am not a fan of any Exotic Looking Supercars and that is what the C8 ZR1 is! Not a bad thing just not my thing. I will keep my C7 Z06 3LZ Vert till I cant drive anymore.
