I've got a new to me 2016 Stingray 3LT (not Z51) with oem Motorsports Polished wheels, 19" front and 20" rear, stock size tires. To give this car a slightly wider paw print, I was thinking about using 1/4" to 3/8" spacers. I want it to be very subtle and at a glance it wouldn't be too noticeable. It looks like there is plenty of tire clearance and shouldn't cause and rubbing. Has anyone done this and did it create any clearance issues? Also can I use the original lug nuts with less depth on the nut?
I'm not in favor of appearance mods that might also effect safety - handling changes from the spacers and reduced strength of the lug/nut connection.
You'd probably be ok but there must be a better way to improve the appearance.
Yeah, I get your point but I didn't think a 1/4" would compromise handling or safety, but maybe it would. I like it the way it looks but thought a slightly wider stance would look good.
I have 5 or 6 mm spacers with extended lug nuts from Weapon X on the OEM wheels and no issues. Bought aftermarket wheels with 10 1/2" wide rear rims, lowered all the way down and still no issues (C7 Stingray).

The C7 wheel studs don't have much extra thread. If you want spacers, you should change the studs, which is pretty easy if you're mechanically inclined. This article discusses the issue: https://www.vorshlag.com/forums/foru...te-wheel-studs
I like the longer ARP studs but they also require open lug nuts. OTOH I wouldn't hesitate to use the ET lugs w/ a spacer. If the thickness of the spacer is = to the length of the extended end of the ET lug, then you are back to OEM amount of thread engagement.
