The battery is on right side (passenger side) in the rear corner of the hatch under the carpet. Lift up the carpet and there is a Styrofoam panel holding the funnel. Under the foam panel lies the battery.
I tried to look at the battery and only a small corner of the carpet comes up due to it being under the wheel well molding. I bent the carpet in the middle and slid it out from underneath the molding. Not really sure why they didn't put an access cover there like the other side has for storage.
I think we can all agree that this was a step backwards from the rear-mounted battery setup on a C6. The cubby with the battery inside was a much better solution.
I used a tool designed for plastic rivet removal. http://toolmonger.com/wp-content/upl...snapontool.jpg I was careful to pull it up so that I didn't fold (crease) it, and now I can pull it up with just my fingernails, now.
It is undetectable when pressed back down.
I would suggest doing it very carefully before you NEED to pull it up so that it is easy, and nothing gets destroyed in the heat of the moment.
I agree, the carpet material is a little tough to lift up to gain access to the battery but if you're careful you get it up enough to remove the foam cover and expose the battery. I'll post a photo or two if I can find them.
The photo of the battery shows the foam cover removed and the plastic cover over the connections removed.
