I am having my Escort 9500CI installed and needed idea's on where to put the display and control module? I was thinking in the hole behind the Nav screen. Any thoughts?

Just curious where you installed the display and control interface. I am considering the 9500Ci for my C7 as well. I've used K40 stealth detectors for the last several years and always installed the LED's in my AC Vents. This passport unlike the K40 has components that need to be installed within reach which certainly complicates things.
Also would love to know how you like the detector. If you have any pictures of you install, I would love to see them including how the laser devices and other components were mounted in the front of the car.
I had been waiting to see an Escort install myself. I got my C7 last week and spent some time going over every possible place to install the Escort components. If I was going the Escort route, I'd install the control interface with the buttons in my center console or behind the screen but I think the center console would be preferable. As for the LCD display, it would probably be ditched and I would have installed the LED's in it's place and flush mounted those up under the dash where the 8" LCD is in the gauge cluster.
That said, it would have been really nice to hear back from Dashtronix but they don't respond to PM's, emails of phone calls. If Dashtronix had the C7 on their roadmap and would have at least gotten back to me, I probably would have gone with the Escort.
Instead I've opted for the K40 360i concealed setup. I've used their concealed radar detectors for over 15 years and they have never failed me. My last C6 had the Calibre with laser diffusers and it was a great system. I'm installing my new 360 next Monday. We are installing two laser diffusers up front and one in the rear. The one thing nice about the K40 is that it has two radar sensors (one front and one rear) where as the Escort only has the one up front. The K40 also has built in GPS capability with the ability to mark areas with frequent false alarms. The Escort also has GPS but the one thing I like about the Escort is it's ability to be update via a USB connection with a laptop which is useful for updating for speed camera's. Also of interest on the Escort is Escort Live.
As I mentioned earlier, I've used K40 for years and they have never failed me. Their setup is 100% discreet. It's controlled by a small wireless remote. No LCD's or control panels to mount. Just a set of LED's which will be flush mounted up under the dash where the gauge cluster is.
I'm looking forward to getting this installed as I hate being without radar but also hate windshield mounted ones.
