Default Brakes

Who can tell me if the Z51 car and Base car have the same caliper in front? Also, willing to make a free set of pads for anyone willing to ship us a front and rear pad from a Z51 and a base car. call me at 216-780-8825 if interested.

So, I'm guessing a Z51 rotor will fit a non Z51 car if you also change the pad. Good news, I like the Z51 brakes, it's the only thing I really cared about from the Z51 package. That's a cheap upgrade!

Naturally, since the Z51 rotor is significantly larger, to take advantage of the increased surface area, you'd have a different pad.

If the two versions use the same caliper, how would you have two different pads? I suspect the area may be the same between the two, but the Z51 mounts the caliper at a larger radius, to account for the larger diameter brake.

I could see there being two versions of pad due to material differences (Z51 maybe being a higher temp pad), but I would expect the size to be the same. Actually, if the two rotors are also different thicknesses, perhaps the pads could vary in that respect as well?

That's just a guess of course.
