Default Halltech C7 Stingray

Simply got tired of waiting for our Michigan dealer to deliver our car on deposit, so we just drove down to a local dealer and bought one.

It is a very sad deal when you put a $1000 deposit on a custom order January 14th, and find out that our car is still sitting at 3400, no VIN and no dealer invoice as of today 10 1/2 months later.

The car we are picking up is almost identical to our order, sans the carbon fiber dash, which makes little difference to our plan.

Our beta rapid prototype carbon fiber intake can now be put to the test on the road, and on the chassis dyno. Katech has our alpha prototype on their engine dyno, which I think is about to be dynoed next week. Jason may correct me here.

We are going to be putting together a rear fascia that will blow your minds. Not everyone will like it, but we are leaving the tail lights as they come from the factory. Yes, they are growing on me.

My design idea will utilize all of the features like the vents, and ducting in the rear, but the "Look" will be cleaner. I cannot go into detail, but I think they way we will modify it will complete the C7 look to bad ***.

Katech is doing their carbon fiber deck lid with Lexan, roof, and their World Famous aero package, we'll cover the *** end.

I like the tailights just fine, but I think they would look more agressive if the angle was changed so they don't look like a mitsu

good luck with the fascia. you guys do some really nice work. love to see some pics!

I have one of the rare halltech CF stinger hoods on my TT Z06 (c5) and love it. very light and agressive

We sold 18 Stinger Hoods back in the day, so rare is correct.

Awesome! Please find a way to delete the round tailpipe tips and go with something angular like the OEM CTS coupe tips!

Default Something like this?

My Photoshop skills suck, but my design ideas don't. I like the Lambo type exhaust.

WOW - Jim - that is GENIUS! Of course! Why didn't I think of that? The rear is completely angular and needs a cool angular exhaust like that - it looks awesome! WELL DONE!!! BUILD IT!

That's the plan. We start Monday. We have a trick up our sleeve with respect to the upper area. The Upper panel and lower will be in carbon fiber, but wait until you see how it turns out.

We almost did this trick on our ULZ700, but I chickened out at the last minute.

We are picking up our C7 tomorrow. 50% of our intake is finished. The alpha prototype is on the Katech dyno this week for true dyno numbers.

Our beta prototype will be done in about 10 days, which will end up on our car, and then dynoed A-B chassis dyno and we'll have HP tuners logging of the IATs with our new CKN technology.

So within 3 weeks, we should have our mold done for a carbon fiber version of the intake, then full dynamic testing in situate. We should have production versions ready within 30 days or less.

Your car is sitting at Holz Chevrolet in the waiting area - looks nice.

So, did you have to pay $100,000 over MSRP for it?

Noticed the stock intake pulls from a 90 degree bend and lands the filter in the right fender?

Interesting to see the difference from the cc5 and c6 centered filter locations...

Look forward to your upcoming discoveries.

AND, this is coming from a performance guy who usually doesn't care about cosmetic issues.

There is a chop floating around with the same style that has the same shape as the OEM opening, but there are TWO pipes which creates a vertical line that splits the opening in half.

They both look great, but I like the two pipe look better, and I have to assume 2 pipes would work better.
It's really not the taillights that screw the rear end in my opinion. It is the multiplicity of lines and shapes that take over the entire rear end. Triangles, circles, trapezoids, rectangles and a hosts of vents and lights. No theme that makes it unique to the rest of the car. Angles gone wild!

We are working with Katech on something that will provide for that look.
