The LS3 is was not an 11 second car period,
the C7 is a solid 11 second car
I disagree.
If more than one (heck, even if just one) has gone 11s then it's an 11 second car.
Not all stock C6 LS3 drivers can run an 11 second pass in all weather conditions, that's true, but they HAVE gone 11s.
But the exact same thing can be said about C7s as well, they haven't ALL run in the 11s either.
Yet they ARE still both 11 second capable cars regardless, one is just a little more so. There is NO DOUBT that the C7 is notably quicker than the C6 LS3 in stock trim.
I totally agree with your statement. I saw many LS3's and a few LS2's also turn in the 11's with minimum mods and a good driver. However I do also agree the C7 has a lower starting point. All I can say is, "Aren't Covettes Great!!"
The Z51 M7 with it's higher numerically 1-3 gears requires shifting to 4th, a base M7 might be able to go through the traps on the limiter as it can do 119mph in 3rd. Though it won't launch well with only a an overall 9.09 first gear vs the C7 Z51 at 10.16, still the auto with base gearing is 10.29 and the Z51 A6 is even better at 10.97. The only benefit the stick has is to be able to launch at a higher rpm where more power is available, though the LT1 doesn't lack power down low with it's VCT plus it's hard to beat the torque multiplication and believe the torque management is going to limit a hard/high rpm launch in a manual in stock form atleast.
Mine did put down 2 more hp than my Uncles Z51, a6 with the exhaust, with the same tune. We thought the exhaust would of help at least 5 to 10 hp more.
Mike also tuned my TBSS and my buddy's blown 5th gen Camaro as well as a HOST of fast cars, GREAT run OP...If anyone needs Mike's number PM me, he knows his stuff!!!
