Did you buy the mans car and get a stick or the auto? Anyone can drive an auto, it takes real skill to pedal a stick!
And like Ben Franklin said, " believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see."
Said the troll in the 427 vert. The only Vette that has no member posted times at any track, only posted times in the car wash and waxing.
i bought the C7, Z51, with the performance exhaust. i asked my dealer (this was a month or so ago--still no news) about the published 3.8 seconds, zero to 60. he told me, "no way, auto or stick". i havent seen any credible published stats on this. anybody time it or heard any comments other than from GM (not that id ever question them)?
Have you tried driving it I have done it easily and its stick.... Dealers are not good examples to be asking advice from. Are you sure they sold u a c7 not a c6.. That car should be able to hit 3.9 with s bad driver if its an auto...4.1 the least.
It would have gone faster than 11.49. That little glitch on the 2-3 shift never happened before and never happened since (it touched the limiter slightly before shifting). Look at the 1/8th mph on the pass that was made 8-minutes later (basically hot-lapped). The speed was down ~1 mph in the 1/8th but the 1/4 trap speed was over 1 mph higher. If you look at the 3rd slip, it was slightly faster in the 1/8th (mph) than the first pass but with a worse 60', and went well over 120 mph.
It should have gone a low 11.4 on that pass at over 120 mph.
Hoping to get it back to Atco on Monday for another rental.

Some of these non believers really need to give up on ditch weed. It's gotta be bad for their health .......... Can't wait to see the results of your next track day.

In combo with their boxed wine. Poor, poor combination
Next time out could be a mixed bag. Just imagine if or when this C7 or another taps off a 11.39xx with auto on a stock tire .. It's not IF but WHEN.
I'm looking at this simple and from another view. If a car with only let's say has 1000 miles on it runs a 12.00 ET and the SAME car has 20,000 miles on it... My bet the 20,000 mile car is quicker.
Just for thought...

You are EXACTLY correct. An inclusion of the car's mileage on the C6 Fast list (compiled over YEARS) would prove interesting, wouldn't it?
Concerning rollout I wonder what deep staging would take away from the run on the tree. I used to lose a tenth on a nine second car deep staged. Even two inches might be the difference in time slips above

Apparently, the C6's get faster with more mileage.
This seems to be the case but that is without taking into consideration the track conditions (DA, track prep & etc.) I would expect a similar spread in elapsed times & speeds (only faster) for the general membership as we have for the C6 over the past 8 years.

I've noticed that as my '12 accumulates mileage (at 15k now) it seems to accelerate from a dead stop more smoothly and roll on passing is much better. In 6th it seems I only need tip my toe in on the throttle and the car steps right out. Shifts better to. Go figure.
There is no question that the LS engines really open up after more than 12K miles and I'd be willing to bet that the LT's will too. I can testify to that.
These C7's will just get better and I cannot imagine what the higher performance ZO7's and whatever will do.
