LMR and Halltech are both in development.

I can tell you the stock air box may be a "cold air" but at 511RWHP it is an extreme restriction.

We already have dyno numbers showing +12bhp/10lb-ft SAE (+13/10 STD) on an SuperFlow Engine Dyno at Katech Performance.

The filter we are using is brought to you by our Camaro ZL1 project where Katech did 632 RWHP with this same filter. Pictures of the ZL1 intake, which is a kissing cousin to the Halltech Stinger: http://www.halltechsystems.com/product-p/hzl1.htm

The filter and a similar intake on our CTS-V added exactly +20RWHP on a Mustang dyno to the otherwise stock CTS-V.

Now for those like Ron that understand how add ons work, adding an intake to a motor already tuned, headers, heads and cam, should add much more than 12 bhp.

We are about 10 days out on our final chassis dyno testing. Carbon Fiber version will be the first to come out the first week of December, with a pre-order list now 2 weeks long. The roto-mold version starts the CAD rapid prototype process next week, but takes 6 weeks for a mold to finished product. Deposits are being taken in another thread.

We are still in the testing process but hoping to be available by the new year.

How much of an extreme restriction is the factory CAI with the factory 405 RWHP?

One design change and we will release our carbon fiber version. We do not expect to sell many of these. Pricing is always above what retail customers want to spend on an intake system, but the design can then be easily transferred to a rotomold version.

Some dealers will grab up the few carbon fiber units we plan to make, with the roto-molded version coming next year January.

The factory cold air is extremely efficient for the stock engine HP levels. We saw 99kpa MAP readings during track testing.

I believe Katech was able to pick up 10HP/13TQ on an ENGINE dyno when testing the new Halltech CAI which would give you 7 -8rwhp gain over OE.

Katech has a bone stock LT1 that they set up on their engine dyno with the stock headers, cats, and simulators to replicate the stock exhaust backpressure from the exhaust post cats. Their cell 2 engine dyno is the same Superflow dyno used in their years of testing LSX engines for GM, so the dyno is on the mark.

Engine dyno results with our Prototype A:

C2-10133 Stock LT1
SAE 464/457
STP 487/478

C2-10138 Halltech StingerCKN (Carbon Fiber Intake)
SAE 476/464 (+12bhp/+8lb-ft)
STP 500/486 (+13bhp/8lb-ft)

Subsequent dyno done with our Beta Prototype:
C2-10158
SAE 476/466 (+12/10)
STP 500/488 (+13/10)

It picked up 2lb-ft more peak torque, the same bhp, but the power curve below peak, especially torque was improved.

STP correction is what Katech has used in evaluating engines and mods for many decades, but considering the SAE as the chassis dyno standard, safely +12/+8 should be repeatable.

Dyno with the Halltech Stinger and Katech engine dyno headers, stock backpressure:
487/482SAE
510/505STP

https://www.halltechsystems.com/Prod...ode=StingerCKN

Our airbox will be fully enclosed.
