Default C7 Curb Weight

Does anyone happen to know what the curb weight is of a 2LT (no Z51) auto trans car? I’d be interested in an actual scale weight not what some item of literature reports. Thanks, Don

Pulling the info from a thread we had a while back with actual scale weights.

If you subtract 60 lbs (Z51 package weight) from a 2LT Z51 Auto you are at 3348 lbs with a full tank of gas for a non-Z51 2LT Auto.

Im not sure how accurate the scales were, but when I was down at Silver Dollar Raceway last weekend our 2LT Z51 M7 weighed 3502lbs with 1/2 tank of gas (no driver).

Looks like we need to break out the Inter Comps today ... SDR might have been showing me a bit heavy

Yeah that seems heavy to me, Ron. I think somewhere between 3300-3400 gets most of them. You guys already had lighter exhaust on yours didn't you?

Same car weighs 3420 full of fuel so you were short 57 pounds or so of fuel!

Or your scale wasn't accurate.
Take your pic.
I tend to believe Chuck's numbers.

Gee I guess my scales are wrong...they zeroed before and after. Thanks for straightening me out. Nothing like the forum guys who don't own a wrench getting it right for grease monkeys like me. Maybe help me out next time I need to get the valve spring ht correct or balance my rotating assembly.

Didn't mean to sound bad but that's the weight the scale said and you were not full of gas so what's the deal? No way you could have held 55 pounds of fuel?
You have no idea till you weigh full of fuel. Not full of fuel your curb weight your guessing!
Plus you can give me dollar for every wrench I own more than you! Sockets, wrenches? maybe a 1000 or more !
I do my own wrenching thanks!
3420 is the number I got I was full of gas.
Weigh back full of gas since you have the scale!

What was your weight?
No problem getting a picture.
Commercial scale they use to weigh loads state inspected.
Would be good news if it's off!
This says 3298 base 150-200 more for Z51! I'm weighing again 2 places full fuel!

Mine was 3378# with ~3/4 tank of fuel. After I weighed the car, I ran a couple of errands (bank, back to the house and out to the parkway) and filled the tank before heading to Atlantic City. It took 6.2 gallons. So figure it was ~5 gallons from full when I weighed it. When the car is back in New Jersey later this year I'll weigh it with a full tank.

It was also 3358# on the Orlando Speedworld scale with ~1/2 tank of fuel in it the day I ran the silver LS3 C6.

I wouldn't really trust those heavy commercial scales for weighing a ~3000# car. On the other hand, my ProForm scales are calibrated to +/- .1%.

And I don't believe the Z51 package adds anywhere near 150-200#. Pietro's base M7 car was a touch over 3000# with ~3/4 tank on corner scales. That was about 60-70# lighter than Chucks 3362#.

How nuts are you guys? A few lbs either way. A gallon or two of fuel? You weigh on a commercial scale which if you asked is not that accurate. I have weighed on large commercial scales and each time you pull up the wt is a few lbs different within minutes of each weighing. And besides who the hell cares. I am an old guy too but I do not go around starting needless arguments about crap only you care about. You have a big toolbox...great...next you will start a --ck measuring argument. I only posted the wheel wts of my new z51 so inquiring minds would have that info. I did not promise anyone anything. Be a man and take or leave the info I posted for what it is. As far as I know my scales are accurate and my gas gauge is also. FYI I think the c7 is pig heavy with a lot of content that is not needed in a performance car. ie if you can comprehend that, it means I was not trying to make the car lighter to make myself feel better. As to accuracy of the scales...you can put a 1 lb wt on these wheel scales with the car being weighed and the scale will register the 1 lb increase. Try that with your scales you are basing your proof on. Identical cars will not weight exactly the same, so why argue about a few lbs?

Neither Chuck nor I were trying to be misleading. I took a pic of my freaking gas gauge for crying out loud.
To insinuate either of us were trying to mislead people or create "myths" is just stupid.

The poster asked for a curb weight and I'm sure we know the neighborhood but like to see it as close as we can!
If I had the nice corner scales and I bothered to weight it.
I think I would have weighed it full of gas. Just trying to get the correct weight. So I could post the weight with less varibles
We had two weights with on corner scales 3363 and 3378 different optioned cars. Both with 3/4 tank fuel!

I know yours is heavier due to the Mag ride and 2 lt
more than 15 pounds. But who knows what they weigh for sure!
Unless the gas is full. I see if I can find a better scale as I agree
about these other scales being not as accurate as I want them to be.
