Hey VNAMVET, would you mind sharing how you do your burn out? What gear? RPM?
I saw in another post that you held it 6-7 seconds. Also you mentioned holding the brake and mashing the gas when you leave. Is this at a dead idle?
Thanks. These are fantastic times.
I drive around the water box and back into the front edge. A quick spin to wet the entire tire. Brake, 1st gear (A6), then accelerate hard to 4500 and hold it the until tires smoke (6-7 sec), then release brake, ease off gas pedal and roll forward and stage.
I do not stage deep.
Left foot hard on brake, on last yellow, floor gas pedal and let off of brake.
This seems to work for me. I had a coach ( who will go un-named) who taught me and with further practice, I might equal his times.
Hi and Congrats,
Curious did you use the paddle shift and were you in track mode? Have You tried it in Track mode and allowing it to shift on its own? Just curious, well regardless you have a BAD mama jammer !

Thanks for the kind words but the car takes most of the credit!
I always use Track mode, with TC off.
Never use paddle shifters. I always let the transmission shift for itself.
It shifts very quickly and I mean quickly, hitting hard when shifting to 2nd and 3rd.
The car is at the top of it's rev range in 3rd, going through the traps. It's almost like
the GM engineers designed it for bracket racing. It is very consistant and easy
to drive.

Yourself and Snorman have provided us good information for our future trips to the track. In summary, Track mode, TC off, flash the converter at the last yellow. Have you tried any of the PTM modes (1 to 5)?
Now for my question, and it has been brought up in other threads, under full throttle do you experience poping or backfire sounds (Not really a true back fire) between shifts from 1 to 2 & 2 to 3. In the video Snorman posted a while back I could not hear any such sound but quality of sound on a video is not great.

If you hear that it is most likely TM cutting timing briefly for the shift.

WoW! Really Super News for all C7 owners. I grew up running Super Stock then it changed to A Stock won top eliminator at local strip in a 63 409 12:80 108! Boy times have changed. I have new (bought Saturday) Velocity Yellow 2LT A6.
Continued success and God's Blessings

Yes, I have tried PTM modes 2 & 3 and it hurt my times by half a second. II am not sure why but I believe it has something to do with torque management.
Yes there is what I like to call an "explosion", between shifts, at wide open throttle and I think it sounds pretty cool myself.
The PTM modes are used primarily for road racing, from what I have read and I will be using them this weekend at Palm Beach International Raceway. They basically control the sensors that control the yaw angles and slip rates of the vehicle and the higher the PTM number the less intrusive the management control has on the vehicle.
That allows the driver more control to actually drift through corners, something a more experienced driver would be able to take advantage of.
