Default Corvette Charger

Has anyone used this charger which came with the car? Seems like the fully charged light will never come on. I ordered a cigarette lighter plug for my Battery Tender and connected it but it has not shown fully charged light either after several hours. Guess because it is not directly attached to the battery it cuts back significantly on the efficiency of the charger. Any one out there experiencing this or is it me?

I don’t have any personal experience as my C7 is on order but these are low amperage chargers and it would take a long time to op off the charge if the car has been sitting any length of time or if you’ve done a lot of short errands or stop and go traffic.

I do know that’s what happens with my G8GT using a small Schumacher charger but it does a better job of really bringing the battery to a very high charge state than does my 15 amp charger. Don

These are trickle charges, not your typical battery chargers. They are meant to maintain the battery over long periods of time but when it comes to charging, they put out such a small amount of current that it could take days to bring a battery up to full charge. If you are waiting for your battery to be fully charged on one of those devices, don't hold your breath as you will be waiting quite a while!

Thanks for the input. I have an update, just checked the Battery Tender and it is flashing green which means it is in the fully charged zone, not fully charged but will be shortly, used the tender on my C6 and it kept it charged all the time, think it may have a little higher charge rate than the one that came with the C7. Thanks to all who gave me input.
Blessings,
Al
