Forgive me for bumping this old thread, but I wanted to post my finding in regards to the RX Catch can install on a 2015 Z51. I wanted to post them here as this seems to be the best thread regarding the RX.

I picked the RX over Elite because my C6 catch can had a drain and it is so much easier to open a valve to dump the garbage than take it apart. The plastic barbs provided by RX did not bother me. The RX is well manufactured and the hoses were made in the USA. They should have provided hose clamps IMHO. You really need 11 clamps to complete the install:

Rotor Clip CTB-16ST FK, Steel, Constant Tension Band Hose Clamp, 5/8" Hose OD (Pack of 10)

This YouTube seems to be the best install instructions for the 2015 Z51:

I emailed RX because in the YouTube they mentioned that there were new written instructions for the 2015. Sadly, they never got back to me nor did the instructions on their web site seem to match the 2015. Thus the guessing game.

I have installed catch cans before and except for the guessing game, this one was not a hard install. The instructions off the web site were worthless for the 2015 so you got to reference the YouTube. What concerns me greatly is I had one barb, one check value and one weird looking elbow left over. This does not inspire confidence! No check engine light, but I hope it is working properly. I reviewed the YouTube about 10 times to make sure I did not miss installing these left over parts. You would think that for a $400 catch can, they would provide better instructions.

I put a dab of silicone on the check valve that screws into the air duct. Make sure you have the check valve oriented the correct way.

He says he uses a new clean air routing in 2015. So where there were two clean air sources from the intake tube, now there is only one following his modification. All with no comment as to why he thinks that is ok.

Let me know if you need any help. You can email them direct for tech support: RXProducts@aol.com (beware of knock-offs made in China by 2 guys posing) and can order here:

For the LT1. LT4 does not take the cleanside unit, but has other critical parts.

(may be the older one)

PM me for any questions.

1. Are you happy with the performance of the Rx can & separator that you installed? Any issues? Checked for oil in the throttle body lately?

2. What is the structure (nipple?) on the bottom of the can for? Drainage? How do you empty the can?

Thank you for your original post and taking the time with these questions.

PM Sent.

yes the nipple is for that reason good size one at that. Plus it has a barb that you can hook up a rubber hose to for it to drain out and down.
