Default Third Brake Light / High-Mount Stop Pulsar

Just a heads-up: I've traced the circuit for the rear high-mount stop LED strip back into the X401 junction in the trunk. Usually we'd just go directly to the lamp, but in this case, you need to remove the entire rear bumper fascia to access said high-mount brake light.

I will post pictures tomorrow showing how to get to it, and showing the correct wiring harness and individual wire to use. Edit: Hit a snag - should still have them up by the end of the weekend.

I've been messing with this tonight, and finally have positive results. Just wanted to share the news a bit early in case someone else was looking forward to doing this - I'll save you the trouble of tracing it.

For those who don't use pulsars, they're actually quite a nice safety booster (and aren't as distracting now that the smart circuit turn them off in traffic).

Sorry for the delay on this - I got held up with other mechanical issues this weekend.

Like I said, the way to get to the third light is silly (having to take the whole bumper off). The wires from the HMS light dump into the X401 junction, and split to VT/WH and ground (BK).

Here are some tech pages for those wanting to look a little deeper while I'm still putting the finishing touches on my instructions.

Hi Theta - was curious if you were able to finalize the documentation and "final touches" on this, thanks! (Didn't see it in the "How To's")

Did you find the wire? I was looking for that info, couldn't find it, and wound up taking the rear fascia off. If you've found the wire in the trunk, you'll save everyone about an hour that does it at least!

Here's the module I used, in case it's useful to others:

I was about to take the trip into the trunk/wiring this weekend and see if I could locate it rather than remove the rear fascia. Thanks for the heads up on the module....
