Screen Flickering

I recall other folks had an issue with screens flickering badly. Did this turn out to be hardware of software?

Mine was hardware. An entire new unit was put in. The entire display flickered, and sometimes even stayed dark. Seems to me it was the switch that the display hits when it comes up, but that's part of the complete unit anyway.

Today my driver screen went blank; when starting the car later it was fine. Anyone have this issue ?

There have been plenty of cases of the Infotainment display having issues and that was addressed with a hardware update/new display however, yours is the first issue I have heard of with the gauge cluster display. If the issue happens again, I'd bring it in to the dealer. Hopefully at that time it's either completely out or easily reproducible for the dealer to fix.

Mine is only a couple weeks old and I was at the dealer today and they had to order a new unit. When I was talking to the service tech he didn't seem surprised.

Yes this happened to me yesterday, Just after starting up the car the drivers screen went black. This was after all gauges had booted up-it looked fine at first then went black. It came back on after about 30 seconds and I drove home with the drivers screen working.
Vin 118XX, 6100 miles.
