Trying to find out if i was to install a NPP exhaust system on a 14 Z51 that was purchased without it, what is needed to be done so the exhaust can be controlled with the drive mode selector? Is there any wiring harness or would it just remain open all the time?
The Billy Boat Fusion probably does work with both the OEM NPP and the AFM. The Bullet and PRT appear to only work with the AFM. But in either case, don't forget the X-pipe with high flow cats.
If the cylinder de-activation were taken off the car (and if the car doesn't have NPP) then the Flowmaster would seem to be the muffler for that since it doesn't have any muffler valves. (The inTune device might be able to permanently turn off the AFM.)
If the aftermarket muffler should be popping too much then I try a richer air/fuel ratio with something like the HKS AFR
.
As of right now, there is no known way by the general public to add NPP to a car that does not have it and have the ability to switch it with the drive mode selector.
There are aftermarket exhaust vendors that offer a "NPP" type system but it does not integrate into the drive mode settings.
While nothing is impossible, I would say it's not easy and cost effective to intergrade it into a car that didn't come with it from the factory.

Thanks.
I love my billy boat NPP setup on my 07, i'd go with that
It was reported by someone that the wiring for the NPP system is not present on non-NPP cars. You may want to verify this by checking your car to see if there are any plugs.
So in addition to the actuators you would need the wiring harness and to find where it terminates to run it down the tunnel of the car.
Aftermarket exhausts are controlled by that switch under your right foot as it should be.
OP do you have an auto or manual? Might want to consider the difference in the way aftermarket systems work based on transmissions regarding the E mode. Automatics search for V4 mode all the time where as manuals go to V4 only if in E mode.
Might make a difference depending on the valving used by an aftermarket system. If you have a manual it's less of a factor.

All these dooms day thoughts about putting NPP on.
It was easy to add to my 2008. Just as easy on the C7. Just have to
turn it on so to speak! Someone knows how it works and what to do. Just need them to chime in!

Has to be just an electronic Valve. Open or close that is on the exhaust. Just needs juice to open. Likely a spring closes it!
I'm going to try it for myself to add with my A&A kit!

The BB Fusion for the C7 appears to work with the OEM NPP system. Does it also have a kit to make an aftermarket NPP system ? I don't know and I would be careful who I asked because marketers are not very good at keeping track of complexities
