Default Cruising oil temperature?

What average oil temps are you seeing just cruising at highway speeds
with outside temps in the 50 to 70 degree range. My old Z06 ran
about 170 in these situations, the LT1 is running 200 to 205?? All
my searches turn up such strange info. Thanks

Seeing the oil cooler is an oil to water heat exchanger (similar to an LS9) the oil will be close to the coolant temp until you start driving hard.

My old '12 GS had the air/oil cooler and dry sump and cruising the oil was a good 30* cooler when cruising - also took long time to warm up in cooler temps.

Mine show about the same: 200 to 205.

When doing HPDEs, the oil temperature goes up to 260. Is this normal?

I would see 260 to 275 in the Z06 on a hot day HPDE, even 285 once
at Autobahn in August. So yeah I would think it normal.

I did not know the C7 was a water to oil cooler, so it makes perfect
sense to see temps close to water temp while cruising.

Thanks for your help guys. John
