The half mile in chicago was "ok" last year... But it wasnt good enough that I am going to bother going again. The airfield they use is like a slip and slide, if you dont have AWD its pointless as they do NO prep, it was really worse than racing on the street as far as traction goes. And god forbid you have a mechanical failure like Rob from champion motors did last year with his 1000+ whp twin turbo vette (lost his brakes) once you run out of tarmac its nothing but a pretty good drop off, a fence, and a swamp....
I also didnt think that the guys that put on the event were very professional. They were ripping around the parking lot wrecklessly in a seriously nasty dune buggy, just seems really wreckless and inappropriate. Also the way it was organized was horrible as far as staging cars for the races, it was rediculously slow and no one really seemed to know what was going on.
It is a great idea... I could be a lot more fun... Hopefully they have fixed the glitches.. But to me there just was not enough emphasis on professionalism or safety. It was executed poorly in my opinion.
I did the Clayton GA event last year and it was a blast. This year it's the Hot Rod power tour up to Chicago and then I will be doing this event. So let's hope they have there **** together by then.

Great to hear! Did you sign up for the early or late Chicago event?
