Default PFADT Flash Problem

Hello everyone,

As we, all know PFADT has gone out of business. I would like to get other forum members thought/suggestion on how to fix my problem.

I have been using the PFADT Tune for about 5 months and was able to flash my ECU from stock to custom and from custom to stock. I currently using PFADT 1.0.7 version of software.

This morning, I am having a problem to return back my custom tune to stock. I have got an error "Module Access Error:W38" and at this moment, my C7 couldn't even start at all. When pressing the clutch and the start button, nothing happens to the car. I have been using the same flash program and the same tune file. As the error indicated, I also had tried using "Low Speed" as well as three different notebooks (just in case...), with the same problem.

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Knowing that this problem will not be covered by GM, how much do you guys think to actually get this fixed (Labor+Parts+Programming)? I just want to get to know the ballpark so that I don't get taken by the dealership.

Should I just bring it to the dealership or maybe to a tuner shop to see if it can get fixed?

Thank you very much

I had all kinds of problems with that flash. Dealer replaced my ECU at no charge. Your going to have to tow it to your dealer.

Could see if someone with HP tuners could flash a stock file in, maybe something to try before dropping big money to fix that.

Thank you everyone for the suggestion.

00hotvette, when you brought your car to the dealer, was your ECU still on custom or have you reverted back to the stock so that the dealer didn't realize that it has been tampered? or maybe you have a great relationship with your dealership? Was your car still running?

Thank you.

No I had to trailer my car in. I believe it did have the Pfadt flash as my car would not take a flash back to stock. I'm not sure why my dealer put it thru warranty as my car also had headers on the car.

Try and take your car to a reputable tuner.
Good luck report back.

As long as it has the backend stuff still intact. (Check Sum's, etc)
Otherwise EFIlive or HPT won't be able to touch it.

Most dealerships are pretty nice, and will do a full reboot for free or maybe a couple bucks.

Can this customer contact Trifecta? Isn't it their software (OS)?

C7 owner, did you ever get the problem resolved? Wondering if a reflash at the dealership took it back to stock?

I couldn't do anything to the C7 with the Pfadt "tune" in it. It wasn't readable or changeable, nor did it improve the vehicles performance.

If your lucky enough to still have the cable, you can try and flash it back to stock it if will let you, but if it doesn't, your new calibrator wont be able to access the computer with the Pfadt tune in it.
