I installed mid length ARH headers yesterday. Disconnect ground cable at battery. Reconnect after installation finished. Do not go to dealer for PCM reflash. Restart.

you don't need to disconnect your battery. all that does is reset the long term fuel trims.

When removing the large fuse block on the the passengers side to get to the exhaust manifold, disconnect the battery. There is the main positive cable there and it needs to be disconnected. You need to disconnect the battery to avoid a major electrical short.

Ok i will have to disconnect only the negative wire from the battery before doing the whole job.
No need to disconnect the positive from the battery at all correct?
is there a stereo system pin code correct?

No to both questions.

Here is a hint. The driver side header goes in from the bottom. Passenger side header goes in from the top. To get the passenger-side in, you have to remove the starter.

Disconnecting the negative only is sufficient, as both need to be connected to complete the circuit to allow the flow of electricity. Once the negative is disconnected, the car is no longer powered.

Before I installed mine, I had them ceramic coated. Its been advertised this help reduce under hood heat. Here in Central Texas, anything you can do to reduce heat under the hood is very good. I would like to hear from others whether they experienced flaking of the ceramic coating. Perhaps preparation and new materials will help. It was done with Cerakote in Titanium color.

I ceramic coated mine inside and out, I am using my car for road racing and less heat is my goal. I had 2000 degree race coat done on the inside and 1200 Cerakote done on the outside. They are beautiful and in my experience very durable I have had all my exhaust pieces coated in the past and never had an issue with it coming off.

Oh. And to get back on topic, I've used nothing but American Racing Headers since the day Nick opened his doors. I think I might have been his first customer, or certainly close to.
There's nothing he won't do to make his product and customer service better than anyone else's.

That reminds me. I need to order a set for my car.
i got a set of mids here if you want them

From the 2 you have said I would go with ARH 100%. But on my c7 I went with LG LT headers in mine. Robert

I just did a full write up on this when I installed ARH mid lengths on my Z06. It is here in the Tech forum. You might want to take a look as I covered some of the issues I had with the install. Good luck
