Default C7 brakes?

I've got an 03 Z06 and found a pair of practaly new silver C7 calipers, is there a differance between those and the reds? Do the C7 other then what's coming out on the new Z06 all have the same brakes or does the Z51 package sport different brakes.. Last of all would the silver C7 calipers be a good upgrade to the stock C5 Z06 calipers after an obvious rotor change.. Any good input is appreciated..

Thx R

I would help if you could post pictures so that people can confirm they are C7 brakes. The calipers on all 2014 C7's are the same. The Z51 uses a larger front rotor.

Incorrect sir. The Z51's calipers are different part numbers due to being a larger casting to allow for a longer reach of the mounting holes for larger rotors. There are three sizes of brake systems for the C7, base, Z51, and the Z06 which isn't out yet. There are several threads on this, one in particular Theta listed part numbers and pics proving this. The calipers appear to be close to the same performance however with the only noticeable difference being the length of the mounting area, so you cannot simple put Z51 rotors on a base as we had hoped.

Oh, and these are base calipers FYI..

Thx.. In looking for a good upgrade for my C5Z I didn't think the C6Z's calipers were worth it, better off going with a set of aftermarket BB.. Didn't know anything about the C7 Brembo's but figured it was worth looking at!

So would the Z51 Brembos bolt up to a C6Z06? Need rotor?

Unknown without a test fit. I would wait for the new Z06 and look at those calipers and rotors if I were in Titans shoes
