Sorry to hear about your issues. Hope it works out for you.

That said, saving a few bucks second hand isn't what it's cracked up to be in most cases. I hope the seller does the right thing.

Best of luck moving foward.

just called and cancelled my tune apt for this afternoon.

The vendor I got the headers from emailed me back this morning and said they will track some down for me and that they are having their guys find some now. Sure hope they can find them and get them sent to me ASAP!

As a backup plan I already have an email out to Steve at ARH directly to possibly order a hardware kit from them. just in case..

Hopefully I get some good news here soon. My day is already looking depressing. Likely going to have to rent a car for the next couple days at least..

This is why you don't mod on a daily driver. Go rent a cheap car for $30/day.

Good news! I spoke with Steve at American Racing Headers and I was able to purchase a hardware kit and they are overnighting it to me. Looks like I will be back on the road tomorrow night. I'll be throwing some CEL's for a bit but that shouldn't be an issue for a couple weeks until I get tuned. I may just run a bit lean until then..

Ahh, good to hear. You'll be fine without the tune, you'll just love the tune that much more once you get it done

I asked Levin if they had any ARH header sets in stock and they said no. They didn't say anything about trying to locate them, although I didn't think to ask. Either way I am ok with the turn out here. The vendor I bought the headers from got back to me this morning and said they will locate some extensions and get them to me, but I haven't gotten any word back from them yet. I figured it was best to get the order in with ARH as I would rather end up with possibly 2 sets of extensions rather than none!

Good to hear you're getting some satisfactory resolution to your difficultites. Steve at ARH is one among several first class people producing stuff for the C7 that I've had the pleasure to do business with.

TIP: Make sure the clamps on the X-pipe are turned as close to 90 degrees as possible so they don't hit the tunnel plate. Don't ask me how I know.

Hahaha I already thought about that as I went through the process in my head.

Great news! I got the full hardware kit in from ARH today! Since I didnt have new header gaskets or bolts initially I am going to go back and replace those now. One final question though.. I got new collector bolts, new bolts for the primaries, etc, but I got 1 different bolt that is 1" long with washers and a nut on it and have no idea what its for. Also, I have two wiring clamps and I am not sure where to mount them. (Didnt get install instructions). Are these pieces possibly for the Z51's??

Anthony,
Clips hold the O2 extensions in the tunnel with the use of the oem Heat insulation screws.

If your rear Connections are an early design, they won't need the bolt.

You can call or email for quicker response.

I'm often in the office until 7-8pm est.

Thanks for responding Steve!

I ended up taking a guess at it with the wire clips and that's where I put them so that worked out perfectly. I just zip tied up some of the slack. I think I see where the bolt "would have gone" but my car doesn't seem to apply in that case.

Now I just gotta go bolt up the battery and connect my spark plug wires and then I can hear this monster!!! I'm so excited!

So I decided to dig back into this after having it all wrapped up. The ARH offroad Xpipe was a bit too much for me sound and smell wise so I figured since I was also given the ARH catted Xpipe I would swap them out. After getting the offroad Xpipe out, I realized that one of my back o2 sensors seems mangled. Upon further inspection it appears that offroad Xpipe has some burrs in that o2 sensor bung that were not smoothed out so when I put the o2 sensor in there and tightened it down it tore up the tip. (Drivers side rear o2 sensor). Heres my question.. Based on the pics, I would assume this thing is toast right? And if so, do I need to replace it?? I ask because I still have to get tuned at the tuner and I am not sure if the back o2's get shut off when they tune it.. Thoughts?

It looks like it's mangled pretty good...what happened there?

Yes, have them disabled in the tune, but it looks strange to me....

the metal inside the offroad X-pipe (non catted) was not smoothed out as much as it should have been and it caught the o2 sensor's perforated tip when tightening it down. There is a place where the bung is welded to the pipe and the weld was not cut down or cleaned up enough on the inside. As a result, it tore it up pretty good..

Fyreant if our X-Pipe did that we will gladly send you a new O2 sensor. Our QC team must have missed whatever isn't right about that O2 bung. We run a tap thru every O2 bung on every system we build to catch any imperfections. It's unusually rare to see this happen and I apologize for that. We'd also like to arrange having the X-Pipe returned for repair. We can turn it around the same day.
Please email me your contact info and we'll set it up.

For future reference to anyone that buys our system new or used, please contact us first. We'll be more than helpful getting what you need out immediately or making whatever correction or change is needed. Thanks.
