Default Help! Freaking out! American Racing Headers install issue!

well, I am on about 30 hours of no sleep which isn't helping. I started late last night on working to get my ARH long tube headers installed which I bought used from a forum vendor. This is what I received in the package:

-two header primaries
-two X pipes (one catted, one not catted)
-one "Y" pipe to complete the mid section
-two clamps to clamp the mid section pieces together

I believe I should have got the following pieces but did not:

-two more clamps for the back of the X pipe to where they connect to the axle back mufflers,
-some spring bolts to connect the X pipe to the primaries
-O2 sensor extension cables (the most important of all of these)

Am I correct in assuming I should have gotten these as well?

So for now, I have managed to rig some old spring bolts, and I can cut the other clamps of the stock X pipe to reuse those, but my main concern at this point is should I have o2 sensor extension cables? or is there something I am missing with how the wiring is routed?

If I am missing 02 sensor extensions, can somebody (vendor or person) over night me a set? I will pay for them no problem. I have an appt with the dyno shop on Monday afternoon so I have to have this fixed by Monday at noon or im screwed.

Please help!!

I emailed the vendor I got the headers from and he said there was supposed to be a small box with all the hardware inside the bigger box but no dice. I assume it was left out by mistake. I asked him last night if he can same day ship some o2 extensions but he has not gotten back to me. Things looking pretty bleek here. I think I may have to abort and spend my entire day putting it all back to stock.

Vendors out there, can someone help me ASAP! Please!!

Damn man that sucks! Did they have a contents list that you could have checked to avoid this debacle?

Nope. I bought them used so the content list and instructions were pretty much expected to be absent.. But not the hardware. I didnt even know I was missing the extensions till I found the cables wouldnt reach!

Leave the sensors plugged in and tied up out of the way, go to the hardware store and get some plugs for the rear O2 holes, and wait for the extenders if you can't source a set locally.

Lot of work to go back to stock

Exactly. Worse case you throw some CE lights until they show up. No reason to go back to stock.

So plug the rear holes and tie up the sensors. Got it. What to do about the front ones though? Surely I cant tie up all 4 sensors and plug all four holes can I? I may be able to gt the back sensors to reach the front holes but I dont know if that will work or not. I assume this would only be good enough to make it drivable and that I should reschedule my appt for my custom diablo tune that I had tomorrow afternoon..

Ahh, so it's the front O2 sensors that won't reach? That's a little more complicated. They do need to be in place for any realistic fueling control and drivability. Often times the Harness can be followed back to where it's being held up and removed from the clip or wrap to create extra length. If that's not the case on the C7 you will need the extenders.

Who are you going to see for the CMR tune? They may well have a set of extenders they can provide you with.

I see you are in Florida, if you can't find a set ASAP, get in touch with the guys at redline, they are local and do a bunch of C7 builds, I'm sure they can get you what you need if you can't fine it locally.

I am going to try to get a few inches out of the harness if I can. I am going to Levin Motorsports in the Tampa/Bradenton area. Where is redline? There is nobody that I know of locally that carries anything that I need for this car. And the o2 sensor connectors appear to be specific to the C7. I have not seen anything near those design online. Also, I read the installation instructions for the PFADT headers just while I was googling around and they indicated that the front and rear o2 sensors were exactly the same. If that is the case can I use the back o2 sensors in the front ports? That will give me the extra couple of inches I need to get one set plugged in..

Looks like them and Redline are on the other coast. That would be 2 hours there and 2 hours back tomorrow and I have to leave to head to tampa by by no later than noon. Anyone in the southwest florida area that might have them?

No dice on getting some extra length by freeing up the harness. I could get enough for the passenger side maybe but the driver side is about 8" too short. No way to make up the difference with that much length. Seems like i am missing my tune appt tomorrow. Dont see a way around that at this point. I will have to try to find a vendor that will same day ship me the extensions right away tomorrow morning or else I have to return car to stock all day tomorrow since I have the day off work. For my job I drive from client to client everyday and my C7 is my DD so I cannot be without a driveable car come Tuesday morning..

I thought about that, and that would buy me enough time to get the o2 extensions in, but, can i drice the car for a few weeks without the tune then? Would be like 2-4 weeks before I could get up to the tuner again..

Same day shipping is some $300-$600!!

Rent a car for $50 and then just have the extensions overnighted.

I bet next time you'll check to make sure you have everything or not buy used!

Always check stuff before installing. I've had new parts missing stuff/etc all the time. My first set of headers had the wrong back pipes included. 2nd set needed some stuff shipped out too.
