Just took possession of a new C-7 Z-51 with 8 spd. auto. This feature is driving me nuts... When under hard acceleration the 8 spd shifts quicker than the engine can transition to V-8, causing a noticeable stumble and lurch. Using the cruise control its hardly noticeable, but with normal driving in hill country its very noticeable. Can this feature be defeated with an automatic.?????

Sure, basic tuning. We can send you a Diablo In Tune programmer that can take care of that for you without ruining your factory warranty.
I have a M7 and have noted something simular except I get a light bump and once when I hit it hard a big bang. I now only put it in Econo when just crusing on the open highway and want the better MPG.
Range AFM disabler. Simply plugs into the OBDII port, no reprogramming and absolutely no possibility of affecting warranty. (the jury is still out on Diablo IMHO, they claim no trace left behind but there are just as many out there who claim GM can detect it with deeper forensics) http://www.rangetechnology.com/pages/v8
This is the kind of survey GM needs to run not where to put some switch. I think this is a problem that we are forced to except if we buy the auto and want to keep warranty.

Good morning Sonny, your Displacement on Demand system SHOULD be eliminated mechanically not just covered up with a tune. Tuning only does not stop the car from attempting to engage DOD. We have a kit that consists of:
This will completely delete the displacement on demand, and gives you an awesome opportunity to install a performance cam at the same time for a little added kick in the pants.

Mine is an M7 so only in Eco mode. That said mine seems off and doesn't try to come on in ECO mode and it is tuned.

"Eco Mode" is displacement on demand on automatics. The only way to completely eliminate it is mechanically. Thus, we developed a mechanical fix for it.
