Several times, my climate controls stop illuminating. The digital temp and fan speed display on the drivers and passenger side stops working along with all the indicator lights on the various climate control buttons. The heat and ac continues to function however and the digital display of temp and fan settings appears on the main display. After turning the car off for a short period of time and restarting, everything is working again. You can't just turn it off and restart immediately however to get everything back to normal. Takes a while.
Any ideas or suggestions other than just bringing it in to the dealer? I have had no luck fixing vette problems that are intermittent, without the problem occurring when at the dealer. Anyone had this problem ?
Thanks Bruce@optonline.net
I had the same issue once with the temp display. Came back on the next time I started the car.

LMAO.... The C5 HVAC head unit experienced the same crap. There were some surface mount resistors that literally popped off the circuit board on some units. Others had poor solder joints that lost conductivity under load. The entire display would go dark. A simple re-solder on the resistors solved the problem.
You would have thought that GM would have used some better vendors for the C7. SAD,, Plain and simple,,, SAD!
