Default Z51 versus no option C7

I would assume there is a performance difference 0 to 60 and the 1/4 mile if you compared a 2015 7 speed manual z51 car and a 7 speed manual standard c7 .
The Z51 has a more aggressive gearing in the trans 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears and has the npp exhaust 5 more horse and torque . What would be the diff 0 to 60 and or the 1/4 maybe a tenth??

From info I have read the Z51 Manual is quicker 0 to 60 and the base manual is quicker in the 1/4 mi. GM has the tendency when comparing the more expensive model to a base and do not list one of the two performance stats on both this has meant that the base is quicker in one of them 0-60 or 1/4 mile time . I watched a video on U tube of a base 2014 7 speed npp exhaust taken to the strip the first week picked up and ran out of the box a 11.78 at 122 mi in the 1/4

I have a 1LT non Z51 with Comp seats and NPP. Z51 worth it if you want Mag Ride, but I didn't want it, but I also didn't want a dry sump oil system (Z51).

I have a 1lt z51, wish i would have got the base and saved the cash. dry sump is a pita when boosting a car. Base is lighter than the z51 therefore it is faster. Biggest difference you will see is between the auto and manual. Auto is way faster on the 1/4.

I think when the day comes when you want to sell or trade your car, the z51 will help the sale just like selling a 2lt instead of a 1lt.

I guess that all depends on if you are in for the long haul?

From my experience--The only reason to buy a Z51 is if you plan to road race the car To me The Z51's ride is to harsh--and rather than drive over bumps it tends to hop over them---As far as performance goes--the difference between a 2.73 rear axle and a 2.56 is a mear 6%--- That is really un noticeable---Even in the higher gears we're only talking about 180-200 RPM's during normal driving--that is about 1-3 MPH difference in shift points (on an auto)
PS : With just bolt ons and tuning and on the street my NON Z51 did a 3.9 0-60 many times---On a sticky drag track-- I anticipate even lower !!!

That's the spread on the 2014 Stingray. 2.56 base & 2.73 Z51 coupled with a 4.03 first gear on the A6.

The 2015 has a different spread from the 2014's, and more favorable, with a 2.41 base & a 2.73 Z51 coupled with a 4.56 first gear on the A8.

For the Manual transmission cars, there is no difference in gearing between the 2014 and the 2015.

The A8 Z51 A8 has a .1 second, in both 0-60(3.7 seconds) & 1/4 mile(11.9 seconds), advantage over the 2014 Z51 A6.

I am concerned about a manual trans car not a automatic trans. The z51 has different ratios in the trans 1,2,and 3rd gear and a 2015 z51 has npp exhaust. As I said originally, I would assume the z51 car should be faster to 60 mph and in the 1/4 mile than a manual non z51 , non npp car. Am I assuming wrong? how much heavier is a z51 car, versus a non z51 car?
