This is a helpful thread! I'd like to do a blower in a few years. The car already has more power than I know what to do with. By then I'll be aching for more!

When I did the math I figured 5500 for supercharger (some profit built in..I know you can order for less)
8hrs labor at 125 is 1k
500 for tune
Should be around 7k? No?
IMHO yes +- a little depending on what comes with the kit.

That was a great price!

So many places I called wanted the car for 6-7 weeks. It only takes a week, tell me which week and I'll have it there.
Even offered to pay up front to retain my spot.
Unfortunately all the reliable shops are no where near me and the tuning has me spooked a bit.
Sometimes jobs roll over and add time to other jobs, but I agree with you, schedule the date and do your best to stick to it. It is not 6-7 weeks for this job, we have done it in a single day start to finish before for someone waiting, but we prefer a couple more days to check everything over more than once.
I have had Joe work on my Z and he is worth every dollar I have spent there. I just have to say that highly skilled and technical tasks like this take time and money. That being said I am an anesthesiologist and your government pays me only $88/hour to take care of our population over the age of 65 in the OR. Nice to see our automotive specialists get paid more per hour than people charged wtih keeping you alive. Thanks again Joe for your hard work on my Z. I use to be the top dog in the doc’s garage but one of my other Dr. friends just picked up a used black Lambo. I guess it is back for more work. LOL!
how many people think the shop's are lying when they get a quote and see the tune price on their 17+ Auto
I'm sure a good many of them think the shop is bending them over backwards, but as you know, they are not. It has gotten ridiculous, but I see why they did that on the 17-up models. On the 16s and older we can tune and then manipulate the CVN checksums to hide the tune from GM. Not so much now

I know from personal experience, if you try to go cheap you may regret it. I now have $18k in something I thought would cost $6k because I didnt listen. I would gladly pay Vengeance the $7500 if I were you...
