SC difficulty of install
From what I have read one of the most difficult parts of a SC install, or more lengthy part is removing the front end.
So in my mind if I'm taking off the front end I might as well install the SC myself

How much work is it really? I have a Z51 so does it tap into the oil system somewhere or are the kits self contained?
I've got between now and probably late March to get it done. I have all the tools and that.
Weekend job if I take my time?

And yes, the kits these days are self contained with a spot to drain and change the oil in the blower.

If you install a supercharger yourself, the manufacturer is required to give you a well thought out "kit". They warranty materials, workmanship and design, if they designed it. A local shop owes you a good running car, usually proving it to you by tuning it on a dyno, while you watch.

I called pretty much every shop around here and got ridiculous answers on how long they wanted the car. One shop said they would install it, but then had to get it on their tuning schedule and the car would sit for 3 weeks wait for the tuner. When I asked why they did not match their schedules up I got the equivalent of a dumb look over the phone.
Most wanted it 4-6 weeks for a 8 hour install. With no valid reason why they needed the car that long other than 'because'.
