My "Today story" ... (only if you're bored)

So ya... Took the wife on a test drive today. The best part is a Corvette has been our dream car since we were both kids. Not a hard sell

I was actually not considering a vette due to the fact that I have 3 daughters (god help me). Keeping daughters in mind I was shopping for what will be "My car" (It's my turn, the last vehicle was her pick for her). Having kids I figured a backseat was necessary as most dads do. I've been primarily focused on Challenger/Mustang/Camaro... That is a bit disingenuous though since to me the current iteration of the Camaro is hideous (personal opinion). One can argue on the actual backseat usefulness of the other options but I have leeway... daughters... I can cram them into luggage Since the test drive momma is OK with a 2 seater (again... Longer story).

The second best part of today was that I did scare the bugeejesus out of a dodge salesman getting a Challenger ScatPack sideways out of the lot ... (shoulda had a cam running on that). My impression - What a massive beast of a car.

Fast forward to me saying "hey lets go to the chevy dealership that's a half mile down the road". The C7 .. nuff said. Knowing it exists and all the stats does not equal driving one. Honestly... at this point, It could look like a Chevette and I'd still pay for it. As Jim Carey once said "LIKE A GLOVE!!" Wow... A car guys car for real, not just a badge.

So ya.. first post.. Not an official owner yet, but I will be. Just need to put the order in.

Dang... Shoulda went to "General"

Welcome. Have been in a similar situation.

Really like the challenger and considered it for the same reasons with 3 kids of our own. But the Stingray is such a great sports car and sooo much more fun.

We already have a car that is the family hauler so finally decided getting another large car would be a duplication of efforts.

The way I look at it getting the C7 gives you 3 more reasons to take it out for a spin

Have fun with it. The worst part of your decision is waiting for the C7 to arrive

Great life choice----Congrats------Once you drive a Corvette it will be forever commitment and no other car will ever give you more pleasure--Same thing happened to me decades ago and now I am on my 8th new Corvette---
Yes there are cars with more HP--more styling--more comfort more practicality--BUT the Corvette driving experience is unique ---More than just the HP---It tells people--You are proud of US engineering and proud to drive an American car--
What other car will do 0-60 in 3.6-
Top speed of over 175 MPH
460 horsepower
weighs only 3300 lbs
Best Brembo brakes
Latest DI technology
latest newest computer electronics
Great warranty
2 year FREE maintenance
PLUS 30 MPH on the freeway as a V8 and 35 MPG as a V4
and all for under 70K !!!!!

There is so much more unwritten and unspoken things about a Corvette that creates it's appeal----It is plain just sexy---A bold and beautiful work of automotive art !!!--
You'll get more attention and jealousy from men than ever before and especially that special look from women !!! I know you're married but the flattery is innocent !!!
Plus your sex life will improve !! LOL------
I could go one for hours about the joy this car has given me----On your worst day say you lost your job--wrecked your daily driver and your kid got in trouble at school--- a 10 minute ride in your Corvette makes all your troubles go away and gives you the confidence that you can overcome anything !!!!!!!
