Default Methanol kit container/tank???

I am really considering using methanol with my Procharged C7 but I'm not a fan of using the windshield washer fluid tank for the methanol tank.

Are there any owners that have used something else, if so what and do you have any pictures? Have you noticed any issues?

I was under the assumption the kits for the c7 came with a pump / reservoir combo and you didn't have to use the washer resevoir.

I could be totally off base.

Ecs has full install instructions for theirs.

I have the Alky kit from ECS and its designed for the washer tank. But I would say that they can hook him up with a custom tank. Here is a pic of there kit that I got for my C7

Oh ok. My bad. I thought that the pump container there in the photo also had some storage capacity.

My ECS alky meth kit arrived a couple of days ago. I would also like to find a small reservoir. I plan on using my factory windshield wiper reservoir for my methanol and the small "aftermarket" reservoir for my windshield wiper fluid. It doesn't need to hold a huge amount of fluid. It's more of a "just in case I need it" solution. Any other C7 meth users successfully adapt a small reservoir?

I went to O'reilly auto parts store and bought a overflow tank that fit perfect right above the Alky pump and it also came with a bracket to bolt it on with. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the tank and used a barb fitting with a rubber grommet for the pickup for the washer tank and pump. The only thing is if I haft to ever refill the washer fluid, I will haft to loosen the inner fender well to fill it, But its no big deal and very easy to do, and I don't use that much any way. Might haft to fill once a year. It works perfect. Here is the tank that I got

Nicely done but that seems a bit too much for me. I was wanting to keep it within the serviceable part of the engine bay. Years ago, I built myself a water cooled computer. It used a small cylindrical reservoir for storing the "coolant." I'm wondering if that would work? It should be small enough to mount out of the way.

I understand on the serviceable part in the engine bay. My tank is to high up in the inner fender to run a pipe or tube to gravity filling the universal washer tank and not haft to modify or drill holes in the engine bay, and trying to fine a place to put the tank under the hood to remote fill. Its very compact under the C7 hoods ,not much room for any aftermarket parts, lol.... If you mount under the hood you will need to extend the wiring harness to the washer pump and reroute the tubing that goes to the wiper blades from the pump . Very nice tank you have there by the way.

Hmmm, wondering if I should take the plunge and purchase the reservoir and see if it would be a viable option for the Z51 cars.

I wonder if somebody could take something like this and make a bracket for it to fit in the fender well near the alky pump.....

Can't speak for everyone else but I'm using 100% VP Race Fuel M1 methanol. You are certainly correct about it already being present in windshield wiper fluid as a main ingredient. I'm sure it would clean off my windshield but I'm not going to be spraying a flammable "race fuel" on my glass (and the surrounding painted surfaces). But, for those who are running a diluted mixture of water / methanol, that is certainly not a bad suggestion.

Well as much as I appreciate everyone's input I've decided to go with SNL's suggestion and use a methanol designed tank located in the truck.

Update, looks like I might be going with a bottle under the hood on the driver side for the windshield washer fluid and using the the cars factory WW bottle for the methanol, I will keep everyone updated and post pictures when installed, car goes in the shop on the 14th.

When do you get your car back? Very interested to see how your installation turned out.
