Just installed long tube headers on my buddies 2013 1LE Camaro this Saturday.
Took about 4 hours (with us taking our time and also learning what to do as it was our first time) and we used 4 jack stands.
It was fun and relatively easy. He had bee quoted $400 for the install by a local shop.
You are comparing Apples to Oranges when trying to compare a camaro vs corvette header install. 5-7 hours in labor seems be the average rate for a Corvette long tube system. Each shop has different hourly rate. Also, Mid length headers vs long tube can be a little different as well. Just depends on which system you are actually installing. Hope that helps.

150 to install headers and x pipe. I personally think its ridiculous to pay 500-800 to install headers. A local buddy of mine who builds ls engines, has his own shop installed mine.
The going rate tends to be about $500 in labor, plus shop materials and we usually do an oil change on the Z51 cars.
Best regards,

You are much cheaper than everyone I'm getting prices from. They charging 7 hours labor @$100 or more per hour. I'm sure they did so many they knock em out in 4-5 hours then with tune it's $1500+ I got one estimate for a cam only no heads. 6K and these are all forum vendors. I hate to see prices if they are not forum vendors.
Steve Doten of ARH installed mine personally at Carlisle. I'll let him pipe in here if he wants to tell you what I was charged (or not).
would love for them to chime in. I think they're in long island and only about an hour and a half from me. I'd make the drive to have them do it for a good price. (when I'm ready to add mid lengths to my corsa xtreme and double helix)

It takes shops that works on vette's all the time 5-7 hours to install headers??I would have guessed 3-5 tops.
Everyone would love a good deal but you will not find a shop that will swap headers and x-pipe for $150 as some suggested unless its a favor or you are related to them. If a shop charges $150 for headers / x-pipe swap, I would question the low price. Most hourly rates are between $100 and $125. I agree with most that it would be a $500 job on average. Although tuning is not a must, It is highly recommended to adjust the air/ fuel ratio in order to take advantage of the investment you made on headers. To me its a package.
I called another shop in Phoenix today, was quoted 7 hours labor @100. So with tune and oil change was $1500 and they said they need the car for 2 days. Yikes!!!
ok here in Quebec , its 8 hr at $110 an hr , plus dyno tune $500, and $1500 for the headers , total with taxes in ? $3300 Can .or $2300 US for JBA ceramic titanium and kooks mid pipe. So gentleman ? you are all getting good prices compared to us up here.Plus u lose the car for 8 working days
I was quoted for $750 also and they even said they haven’t done one yet. So I went home and used the how-to video and did it myself with floor jack. Also did X pipe and exhausts while I was down there also. Not too bad for one person.
problem with the Z51 is the fit , the welding that was performed was alot of work , so much it took the speed shop 12 hrs to perform the whole assembly .jBA are good but dont fit well with other mid pipes .JBA for some reason does not have a mid for this model . final tally on the Dyno was 38 hp more and 30 ft lbs torque . The sound is just out of this world .The sport Corsa cat backs give alot of POP POP POP !! apperently its normal .Simply put ! Its damn loud , but no drone !! fantastic .
Drive shaft is rubbing against headers , Then your being told that in time it will wear itself out !!??? really ? when the install was done , i imagine the header was forced into place , how can you not see the clearance .Now i have to deal with cabin noise and maybe a faulty header down the line . I was told not to drive the car if you dont feel safe !! WTF ?? You would think that this johnny character would do something to satisfy his customer ?!! what do you get ? you get attitude from a speedshop who thinks they are the only ones in town . So plenty of cash and shotty work from Johnny motorsports in Laval .quebec canada Stick to crap Mustangs johnny
