This has happened to a lot of people.....you need to check on something within the set-up on YOUR phone. go into the iphone and click on the bluetooth info icon. Then turn on the "notifications" switch. After that everything should work fine.

I use the microphone icon on the infotainment screen to send and receive text messages. It does not print them on the screen. You give it verbal commands and it will read you received text messages.

Hit your onstar and ask for the infotainment department and they will walk you throught the settings on your phone. It tokk them 3 minutes to help me set it up.. Thx

Here is a screenshot of the Show Notifications switch you need to flip. My 2015 C7 SMS/Text started working when I flipped it. It's off by default. No joy for the 2014 folks though.

The 2014 doesn't have the option to show notifications but it will sound a notification when texts are received.
You can use the microphone icon on the infotainment screen to ask SIRI to read texts aloud. You can also use the microphone icon to ask SIRI to send a text that you speak aloud.
It's a great hands free feature.
